For people like me, who have played about 2 years of ladder games, the rank and rating graphs look quite cramped.

The solution: make the graphs wider and taller. By doing this, each point is clearer to view and easier to hover over the point you want, not the ones a few millimeters (mm) away from it.

I would like the dimensions to be 1.5 to 2 times bigger).

Well I think, that increasing dimension is not a best way to deal with this problem(instead of 0,5mm space, you'd have 1 mm space between dots with diameter of 1,5 mm. Lol). I would rather change the x-axis. For example it could show only games, that had not expired, or enables you to switch between "history" view and "up to date" view.
Other solution would be to enable zoom-in, zoom-out certain part of graph.

So, x by 1.5 and y remaining the same?

Zooming by up to 300% [edit]on your browser[end of edit] doesn't help; the problem just looks worse.

the solution might be to just show the average score for 5 days for someone who has been in the ladder for over x days

I would rather see another graph added. One that is only non-expired games.
