Speaking on the behalf of the Falcons and Colonel. We are sorry that this was spammed across 3 different boards and we hope you will forgive us. (As most people hate spam)

The Falcons are looking to become a respectable, we have already kicked Kellen, who is not liked throughout the clans. Colonel has lost his manager rights and his job as Crown Prince. Some people would like to kick Colonel as he is causing quite a bit of trouble with the other political party.

But I personally think he would never be kicked because of who he is even though he has lost his position.

I do not represent the majority of the Falcons, however I am responsible for a vast portion of the clan's external affairs.

All this talk of 'council' 'voting' is strange to me. If I see someone making unacceptable behavior in the forums, I kick them without a second thought.

'Voting' is an alien term. And it doesn't seem to be very useful...

If this guy were in AWF (or any other respected clan) he would get the boot.

It's been pretty useful to us so far. We've had a very active council that's been responsible for most of the improvements in the clan in the past two months. Voting is just a mechanism we use to make sure that we don't screw up and kick out a good member who just had a bad day.

Personally, these forums are nigh-useless anyway outside the Clan League Thread (and a few others like that). If I pulled a Colonel tomorrow and started spamming the forums, the voting mechanism would at least guarantee that someone would stop and think about whether a one-time action of spamming the forums (4 whole threads!) so significantly outweighs my participation in the clan.

So I'm going to set down my pitchfork for now. Colonel is an idiot, but the forums weren't a scenic environment without him anyway. If I were the Falcons and had reason to believe that I would benefit significantly from his continued membership in the clan (e.g., if he's the only guy with the time to create their inter-clan games), then I too would hesitate before kicking him out even if it lost me the title of "respected clan."

I've always held that the game itself matters vastly more than the forums. The forums aren't even that big a part of the metagame.

Even better. Here's a concrete example of why we have a voting system:

Genghis and Loli (and probalby a few others) are accusing me of operating an alt and using it as a forum troll. That easily meets the criterion of "spamming the forums." (https://www.warlight.net/Forum/100480-night-night-busted)

Guess CORP should boot me, then. Or maybe, just maybe, there's a mechanism by which they can delibeate over whether or not these accusation are true and whether or not (had I used an alt to troll the forums) it would be bad enough of an offense to kick me from the clan.

Voting/Council systems are very useful when you're trying to distribute management or handle cases that aren't perfectly open-and-shut. Yes, they have drawbacks with players like Loli, but they at least let you verify that certain actions need to be taken and are in the best interests of the clan.

Right, Thomas. Here's how it went with Loli:

- Loli posts hentai on the forum

- CORP Gunjikomon Council + Shogun deliberate and issue him an ultimatum- to no longer post on the forum on any thread that has anything to do with the clan

- CORP Gunjikomon Council also begins discussing a resolution to kick Loli from the clan; the debate's centered around whether Loli harmed the reputation of the clan, how badly, what the harm to reputation would entail, whether it meant anything that Loli's been around from the start and only recently started acting like a troll, whether he was likely to behave in such a manner again, etc.; vote was initially 2 yes-1 no-2 abstaining-2 not voted, iirc.

- Loli violates the ultimatum by posting in a thread about the clan and a member of the GC brings that up

- CORP Gunjikomon Council resolution has some votes change due to Loli violating the ultimatum

- Shogun approves the resolution to kick Loli

- CORP Gunjikomon Council reaches the minimum 4 votes for the resolution to pass

- I message Loli and kick him from the clan

The vote system allowed us to take that into account. We didn't expect Loli to post hentai on the forum again after he'd gotten banned for it by Fizzer, but realized that we'd lost our ability to trust him and that he'd become a liability to the clan's members.

For CORP in particular, the voting mechanism + the freedom of anyone in the clan to form/lead a dojo + the relative openness of the Gunjikomon Council are also ways by which we try to stay true to our priniciple of being a clan that first and foremost exists for its members.

@FK: Thanks. I hope I won't be leaving CORP anytime soon, though. It'd be kind of odd if I released C*L2 after I got kicked from the clan.

Nah, not really. Consider: [20] the league is not affiliated with [20] the clan anymore. I forget how that happened exactly, but ... it does happen sometimes xD

Yo vive in Texas por muchos anos y crei que solo aprendemos espanol in estados como Texas y California (porque estan cerca de Mexico y ya tienen muchos hispanohablantes). Pero descubri que toda la gente de Pittsburgh conoce espanol por alguna razon y que su espanol es muy mejor a mi espanol.

Es bueno que estudio para ser ingeniero, porque no necesito estudar linguajes en la universidad.

Pero... ¿porque toda la gente de Pittsburgh puede hablar espanol muy bien? ¡Ustedes son cerca de Canada- no Mexico!

Supongo que no es una cosa de Pittsburgh, más bien una cosa , yo estaba aburrido un día y descargar Duolingo y en realidad poner esfuerzo en ello . Estoy empezando español para mi escuela en el otoño sólo para el fácil A y por lo que no olvidaré. Hay un chico en mi escuela de Puerto Rico y que era divertido porque nos lo juro siempre en español .
