Being a dictator is, as some might put it, very difficult. In this modern world and age its important to know how to be a successful dictator and live. Which will actually bring us to our first point in this guide of, "Pro Tips".

Pro Tip #1 - Get yo-self a good Goddamn secret police force.

Having a good secret police force is a defining factor in determining if your legacy will endure. Not only will a secret police force be your eyes and ears on the streets but they will also be your first line of defense to a national rebellion.

Ideally you want to recruit people loyal to your cause. You should never outsource your secret police openings to untrustworthy individuals. To do so would corrupt the foundation of your reign and destroy you before work on attaining supreme control of your home nation even began.

Now that you have an established secret police force, you are on step closer to gaining total control over your national government. However, you're not the only one who wants supremacy. Other politicians are struggling for power too.

Pro Tip #2 - Get rid of them other mofos

Anybody who is not with you, is against you. It will become needed to dispose of others who threaten your rise to power. If you don't dispose them, they will dispose you.

There are a few ways to get rid of other competitors. One way is to use your secret police force to strike fear in their hearts. Don't be afraid to make somebody disappear.

Another way is to gain information on your political enemies but acquiring scandalous material on them. Most any politician will have something they don't want in the public. If you cant find anything then make something up. Most people are bound to believe you if you have a kickass secret police force.

What if your Secret Police stage a Coup and what if a more powerful neighbor disagrees with your Dictatorship?

Just make the people believe you're a great bastion of democracy. Then you can do the most underhanded, dark stuff you want and your nationalistic population will love you. You'll be able to occupy nations with little reason , all the while draining the nation for resources.

Chapter #3

Excellent! You've now removed all who might pose a threat to you. Now at this point, the population is no doubt very upset with you. Unless you were able to sway their hearts to your cause, in which case you are already a fine dictator and should go ahead and skip to chapter 4.

Pro Tip#3 - Makes da people happy

A happy population is key to a strong and thriving nation. Not only do these people pay taxes to fund your military endeavors but they also help throw your nation forward in sciences. As a dictator, its your job to make sure they have little money and that they are smart.

However, most people are very unhappy at losing money. To combat this, you can inform them their contribution to the homeland will not go unnoticed. You can also throw in a few empty promises to seal the deal.

The moral of the people is important too. Being a supreme leader can be taxing but you must find the time to visit the people(with your secret military force of course) Don't be afraid to chat, play games or even pose for pictures with your people. All of these things will let the people know you have their best interests at heart(When in reality you don't).

With the people with you, the politicians out of your way, and an army of secret police members. You are now in total control of your nation. Congratulations! Unfortunately the battle is only halfway done. Now comes the problem of keeping the hands of other nations out of your affairs.

Pro Tip #4 Lock everything down! Pile on the lies!

Although this pro tip is technically two separate tips, they both serve to assist in the same field.

Nations like the USA, Britain, France, and Germany will no doubt attempt to fix things in your nation that they find problematic. The USA is the biggest concern in this matter. Being the young world power they are, they will act much like Justin Bieber and throw their money around to fix what goes against their ideals. Iraq and Afghanistan are prime examples of this.

Make sure everything you tell the USA is what they want to hear. Naturally that will involve some lies. Here are a few examples from my experiences with America

-USA:N.Korea, are your people well treated?
-N.Korea:Why yes they are, the homeless are on social welfare and live in concentration cam - i mean - homeless centers.

USA:N.Korea, are you trafficking drugs?
N.Korea:No of course not! We are totally against the act!

USA:N.Korea, do you counterfeit other currencies?
N.Korea:We would never do such a thing!

USA: N.Korea, do you have nuclear arms?
N.Korea: Yes...
USA:lol good one

Once nations begin to take your lies for what they are, that is when you must lock your boarders down. It may be the modern age, but spies are still a prevalent thing. Its best to set up highly guarded boarders so make sure you save alot of money to fund a massive army. Highly guarded boarders will make it difficult for spies to enter and even leave. Not to mention defectors will have a tough time leaving your glorious nation as well.
