I dont understand how many times someone has to explain one thing. The old tabs were written in FLASH not HTML. It was outdated. It was also a change we knew was coming for months. Why are tons of people suddenly flipping out now.

What I think, is that Fizzer did it a bit too soon. I'm no expert, but what I'd have done is made the Dashboard look nicer, and more aesthetically pleasing than it is, before phasing "My Games" and "Open Games". It simply isn't nice to look at, as you cannot put your "My Games" into pages, and it leaves the Open Games below the Coin Games, where I imagine more people are interested in playing Open Games than Coin Games - especially if they are just being introduced to WarLight.
The tabs removed were definitely outdated, and were bound to disappear sooner or later, but the Dashboard has to get in better shape before it is mandatory.
Again, no expert, just my two copper coins.

The sad thing is that several people have made valid points regarding this update but most of its defenders refuse to address said points and instead opt to insult anyone who doesn't like the update. "You're all a bunch of ungrateful brats! Stop whining and just accept everything no matter what!"
It's called voicing your concerns. If you don't like something than you have every right to speak out about it. I'll concede that some people protesting the update have crossed the line but (most of) you people defending the update haven't been much more mature with your response either.

I noticed a couple of things with the dashboard that I'd like to see improved. I don't see anywhere to change the default game display settings on the Dashboard. I have to navigate to the https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?MyGames=1 page in order to change them for My Games, and navigate to https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?OpenGames=1 to change them for Open Games. Also, there are fewer options on the Dashboard for what games to display. My preferred choice is "Games that are active or have unread chat messages", and that's not an option (unless I set it as my default via the My Games page). Chris, the games load in about 1 second, but it takes another second for the rest of the page to load. A couple of seconds isn't a big deal to me, and I'm already getting used to using the dashboard.

My main problem with the dashboard is that it is not advertising open games nearly enough. I didn't even notice there were open games down there until this update and everyone yelling about the removal of the two tabs. Granted, this is because I have my Warlight needs settled by ladders/tournaments/leagues, and I create my own games if I need them.
Now that I've noticed that... I have to scroll down to get there. With 31 games and a ~800 height laptop screen, it takes me 7 "Page Down" presses to get to Open Games. That's a lot of scrolling, so it's probably slower getting down there than it is to open the Open Games tab. Opening games is more annoying in the Dashboard screen because flash has to load every time.
Granted, there are some upsides about the dashboard's version of open games. For one, I can open games in new tabs, and then join all of them at once when I'm done looking at the open games. Secondly, with the icons for certain settings, I can quickly/easily eliminate some games based on what settings they do/don't have. (For example, auto-distribution is an automatic no for me - something I would sometimes fall for in the old Open Games since it wasn't there.) Also, instead of scrolling down all the way, since Open Games are on the bottom, pressing the End key is a nice shortcut to there :3
But then again, people might not know how to use the End key or open games in new tabs, and that's the demographic that'd be most annoyed by the dashboard's style. The quickest fix is probably a button on the top-right (above Map of the Week) that scrolls down to the bottom and opens up all open games.
I don't like reloading flash when playing in games, but the main problem with that is that the Next Game button always sends you to the same game (lowest time of the games where its my turn for me.) If I don't want to play that game first - for example, it's a 2v2 ladder game where I want to discuss with my partner - then the next game button is essentially broken for me and I have to keep loading up flash from the dashboard. Ugh. Obviously the fix for that is to create a "skip game" button so I can get past those without reloading flash.
Not quite sure if I'm for or against the update though because I'm one of the least affected by it.

I'll concede that some people protesting the update have crossed the line but (most of) you people defending the update haven't been much more mature with your response either. Thank you. Many people have indeed been calm and coherent in explaining why we don't like the dashboard. Generally speaking, when I look at the thread and the people who argue for the new update, it comes down to "Suck it up. Change is good. Dashboard isn't finished. We're better off without the people who quit because of it." I haven't actually seen a lot of argument for why the dashboard is better than the tabs. Let's face it, WarLight needs all the extra players it can get. Making them leave because of unpopular updates isn't helping. Also, for everyone saying dissenters aren't the majority, I am positive they are, because literally no one I have heard besides people in this forum are happy with it. Maybe that's just the people I play with, I don't know. But you can't pull the "they should have posted here" card, because more people have posted here not in favor of it anyway, and a good segment of the WarLight population doesn't even know the forums exist. There's a voiceless population of Warlight and I would rather just not remove good features in the first place than assume they will all be OK with it.

Well, considering you guys are making this out to be a much bigger deal than it actually is.. (You calling this the biggest outcry/worst update, many people agreeing) considering that the amount of people for and against this update in this thread aren't that far apart.. Yeah, you guys are overreacting. That's fact. I haven't seen a valid argument except for Math Wolf's in why people dislike it.

Several long-time players on this thread stated they had trouble even finding the open games section on the dashboard...I also had trouble. How are new players who happen to stumble upon the game, who are completely unfamiliar with its interface, going to be able to start playing?
Those saying that the old tabs were "outdated" are laughable. Warlight in its entirety is 20 years removed from the state-of-the-art, and that's just fine. Sacrificing playability for the sake of "updating" is moronic.
It easily takes me twice as long to find and start playing open games now, due to the slower loading of the dashboard and the necessity of scrolling down past a bunch of crap I don't need to see.

emm, the players I play with dislike it. Again to post the same argument (some cannot read), on the Dashboard there is too much information, it is not "eyefriendly" and you even have to click to see more open games, this is not comfortable.

FIZZER READ THIS:
On the dashboard, you should put the 'Map of the Week, Coin Winners, Tournaments, Forums, etc.' boxes on the top of the page. Then, move the coin games and open games right next to the my games making the page easier.
