See the last 10 past games of any WarLight player?

Members can see all recent games of any player, non-members can only see the first X (say 5) recent games*. Also the ability to sort the games by ladder, open, 1v1, 2v2 and more, would be nice.

*Non-members should have full access to their own recent game page.

A 3v3 ladder exists for all to use already, which does include 2 EU templates. Join CSL!

Execlusive Forums for Members only?

Why not? However why stop there, as you know warlight have a chat (a very unsuccessful one), how about you create an integrated chat and make it members only? (or have a members only sub-part). Adding features like this doesn't take anything away from the non-payers, but still gives much more value to the membership.

This would allow for a lot of snooking, chat games are still used a lot, and are frequently created too. If the PM system was improved then the chat-games would not be necessary and I think this would be a good thing. Need to improve the PM system first though imo.


Promote Ladders on the promoted game section?
This doesn't sound like a member-only thing :p Honestly not sue what you're thinking about specifically? If you're thinking of making the ladder be based of coin games.. I'd say make a new coin-ladder *which kind of exists with the coin leaderboard).


Exclusive Username
No, just no. There's no such thing as a person who likes their name taken away. How would you feel if somebody payed $ forcing you to change your name. What if two members want the same username? I think warlight allowing anyone to pick whatever name they want is great, don't take that away. Friends can always find you with your userid.


third Type of Sound Notifications - Highly Critical Sounds?
If there's already a sound for it, then I don't see the point. If you're thinking cool sounds (for example when using bomb-card, or airlift) then yeah I think that'd be cool. Imagine playing a bomb card with a huge satisfying sound- this could be good :D

Larger games, and more colors is something I'd love to see added for members. Why isn't this already a thing?

-about the reserved name i believe the first member to reserve a name would get it, probably this would block the name for other members as well, but well... thats life.
Possibly adding a limit of blocking 1 name per year or somethign liek that would block trolls

I don't think 3v3 EU should be member exculsive. That template is like the blood of warlight, almost as much as Strat 1v1, and should be open to everyone.

Well I actually like the idea of exclusive names for members. I think you're overestimating trolls potential here. I mean, do you seriously believe, that someone will pay 30$ or so, only to make you change your name ? I somehow doubt it.

And about more, that 1 member having the same name: player, who bought membership earlier should have priority with keeping it over the one who did it later. And that will be probably only few cases, that you can count on fingers of one hand..

Basically all games, that you can think of, doesn't allow for more, than 1 player having the same name, and everyone are fine with it. I don't see, why all of the sudden it would be impossible to implement in Warlight.

Maybe one restriction is, that you can reserve only one name per account. Otherwise someone with membership will cause chaos everytime he change his name.

Yeah, members changing their name could cause havoc. I think one way of dealing with that is grandfathering names. Reserving a name would merely make it so that nobody can create an account or change their name to that name. But it wouldn't impact anyone who already has that name.

Exclusive names is a no-no in my book. (unless it applies to all old players, so only new accounts and name changing is restricted. Oh, and you should always be allowed to change your name to one of your previous ones, even if that name is "taken" by a member)

1. For chat game you must always use team chat or PM, if not you are technically posting it publicly, since everyone has access.
2. Recent games is of course only for finished games.

Some other suggestions:

- An in game notepad

- Create a custom scenario based on the distribution or board from a game with one click (ofc you would have to fill in behind the fog yourself if past picking stage)

- Be able to sort finished RT Ladder games by template

- Have votes on Seasonal and RT Ladder templates and only allow members to vote

What about a team chat for 1v1 game so we can make notes in game?

I think Ben Wants a tab under community where you can submit a video to the site then Fizzer or Mercer looks at it (and if it is Warlight Content) they post it under this tab. so basically if you guys want to start a WL youtube channel or post your lifestreams on youtube, ppl can actually find them.

There are multiple ways you can make small things seem bigger. Most games use it on skins, just make some sort of way to "pimp" your profile and you'll see a lot of people wanting it (youtube cs:go unpacking videos anyone?). You can do it both as a member exclusive or you can do it sc2 way, where you use leauges/ranks for profile picture frame. I'm personally fine with what I can do in warlight, I wouldn't mind more customizable options with wastelands though (multiple different eastelands).

I don't think private notes for 1v1 games should be a Members Only feature, since that is something that can actually help you win a game, and we want to avoid anything that is remotely pay-to-win. That said, that is a feature that I'd love to see.

How about removing the clunky [M] next to the name for starters.

Also, I see a problem with the name option. Someone could buy membership and change their name to yours constantly just to troll you.
Example: player A is forced to move to Player A2, so they change their name to Player C. Member changed their name to Player C and player C is forced to move to player C2, and because they don't like have a 2 after their name they move to Player D. Player C who is a member now moves to Player D forcing non-member player D to change to player D2, and then to player E. And so on.

These are my suggestions.

There was a season where this was a thing, and I came across it when voting on uservoice. I can see members enjoying that :)

Exclusive usernames with memberships is an interesting idea but will likely not work (as many people have mentioned already). If it is implemented and multiple members have the same name, my suggestion would be to let both of them keep it. Or if a player buys a membership, they should be able to pick any name they want.

The exclusive forums for members would likely not have much activity, but it wouldn't hurt and should be easy to implement.

Seeing the last 10 games of any warlight player is a good idea. In a lot of chat games, many players already use team chat to discuss with others. With this change, all clans would likely use games with team chat, so it is not a big deal. Also it may help catch alts, and might be interesting to watch some of the games.

A 3v3 ladder is very much needed. I think most competitive players in the 3v3 Europe ladder are longtime warlight players, and so are members. This is a thing that I could see persuading some people to buy membership.

The ability to customize your profile page as a member is also a cool idea. A little bit more freedom on the profile page would be much appreciated. Maybe the ability to reorganize where everything goes to some degree, the option to add up to 25 favorite tournaments, etc.

The name change idea is essential for members I think. Give them the option of changing their name every 30 days like it used to be. This won't inspire people to buy memberships by itself but when added with these other ideas, it makes membership much more tempting to some.

The possiblity of leveling up faster (1.5x normal rate) is something that makes no difference to me but some people would enjoy it more, and I can't see how it would hurt, and it should be easy to implement.

Mail threads with more people is a great idea. I'd also like the option to add a player to a mail thread after it has been created.

Ben's video integration idea is really cool too.

Multiple friend lists would be great, and would be a nice perk of being a member.

More colors would be nice, even to just choose between the 50 already made for the large games.

I like all of Lackadaisical's ideas. Creating a custom scenerio with one click for just members would be a big incentive. Basically you can see how the game will play out without having to recreate all the wastelands and the starts in a custom scenario. Being able to sort realtime ladder games by templates would be awesome. Voting on the seasonal and realtime ladder by just members is also a good idea; it would make these ladders more popular, and would be another nice incentive for members.

A good idea would be to create games with slots. I have always wanted to do so, and I would pay for it if I got some other neat things along with it.
