There's more differences, such as America not going under a recent major collapse, America having twice as big a population and America and America not going through economic troubles (well, not as much as Russia).

Russia is strong, certainly, but the economy is weak and is not good for economic development (nor was it). It is something to look out for, but it's down the list. It's not going to take over the world.
