I was making a custom scenario the other day and a thought popped into my head as I contemplated how to make the template. hey I could make it a World War III game! how should I divide up the nations? what reason for war to erupt? Who wins?? In my custom scenario I had Russia, China, and some other minor factions(N Korea, Middle East countries) pitted against America and her puppets (UK, Japan, etc)

If say hypothetically my template were to play out today (Russia+China vs US), and no nukes were used, who wins and why??

Are you asking who would win on your template or in the real world with the situation in your template?

If in the real world, and no nukes would be used, then I don't see how any side could lose, especially the USA. If not using nukes, then troops on the ground would be a requirement for both sides, and since US civilians have a rather lax right to bear arms, plus the US military if nothing to laugh at itself... RIP invaders. Germany would most likely side with the US, and if the country craps out tanks like it did for WWII, then that would be a plus for US, and the UK is an island nation, so that gives it a small advantage.

Ever read 1984? Neither side wins because they CAN'T win. It's a stalemate. Whoever attacks with everything they have first might lose though.

US would have a major advantage thanks to allies Apan and SKorea giving them forward bases to facilitate bombings and landings/invasions. The Russia/China pairing would have no such positions unless they had Cuba's assistance.

The other problem is that China has a massive investment in the U.S. War with the US would harm the Chinese economy greatly.

The US and Co has the most advanced weapons and equipment.

China has the most troops ever recorded in a military.

And Russia, well, Putin's working on it.

ALso, lets not forget that the US has the most advanced military equipment.

So to answer who would win? IF shear size was the only factor, China and Russia, if Tech and spending, the US. With all of these combined, tough war and decision, most likely ending in a stalemate if nuclear weapons are not used.

Sardinnian Basement - you can't compare this by military spending or military size or most military statistics. Sardinnia has the most advanced military equipment.

@Genghis: That war was an intentional stalemate so the countries could dominate their people.

My guess is Iran would side with Russia, as would Syria. Israel can mop up its neighboring enemies quickly. The United States will almost certainly have most, if not all, of Europe on its side, plus the 2nd Amendment. A realistic invasion of the USA is impossible (Hawaii and Alaska may be vulnerable). The USA and Allies boast far more advanced airpower as opposed to Russia and China, and could reduce Asian industry to rubble. Him a would be very hard to invade, Russia not as hard as it has a smaller population. Cuba is weak and could be wiped out immediately. Plus it is not connected to any other friendly nations, except maybe Venezuela. And you can bet the Americans would want all that oil. I would say eventually the United States and Europe would whittle down the Chinese and Russians and their allies.

Not necessarily true, in Emmanuel's book, he explained how each nation is in a military stalemate. Not necessarily intentional, but they just can't successfully attack/invade each other.

Without nukes, Richard Sharpe has the right idea... The US has military bases in Japan, Germany, and South Korea, and a close ally in the UK. China and Russia have essentially no military presence in the western hemisphere.
