There is a activity issue with real-time ladders.
At most only 2-3 people join the ladder looking for a game.
Average you will be waiting for 30 minutes for a game.
Problems ^^^
Solutions?
Reduce the level requirement down.
More incentives. Increase points.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't a fun experiance.. It's a pain-suffering experiance..
Why don't you just leave?
1. Competitive. 2. Open Games? I'm done with Open Games. Too many bad experiances there.
What's other people opinions about this?

Here is a tip: Join when there are odd number of people there. This make sure that at least one player is waiting for a new game. So the system will match you within 5 minutes.
I agree we need more incentives for the RT ladder. One possible way is to let players have the option of showing his/her TrueSkill Mean in the place of the level. So instead of "Lv59 John", one can have "TSM2200 John".

But why even have the rt ladder if nobody likes using it? I would say that the only reason it exists is to allow lower level people to get a taste of what ladder games are like. This is why don't even have 300 people on the lvl ladder. Its because the first experience people have with ladders is the rt ladder which sucks beyond belief. Nobody actually looks at your rt ladder ranking anyways when determining how good of a player you are when you can just go on the lvl ladder and hammer out a decent standing.

But it's just so miserable I don't think people would even go through the effort/pain!

If we were to believe that was the sole purpose of the Real-Time ladder. Than It is a failure.
When there is only 50 ranked people and taking almost 30 mins for a 1v1 Real-Time ladder.
Would it almost discourage people from joining other ladders????

Point of RT ladders is to lose a lot. Multi day games are played better. I want some idea of league or better scoring system. Maybe replace RT by fast tourneys for activity.
I only play three to five games in rt. And I don't care about rating, just winning against some good players sometimes. RT needs quick tourney events or maybe more bragging rights like automatically view all games with a player and wins losses. Also notification when a player joins. RT needs a vote for multi to reduce boot or the difficult board.
I only like rt because of quick games real times, quick wins and the templates. I wouls also want to track player when he joins rt. I must continue beating dom. :)

That just depends upon your skill and preference. While this is more true about the Real-Time ladder (as you have to master multiple templates at once, where some are luck-based and none use the "Pure-Skill" format wholly), some players play better in Real-Time, whereas others are more comfortable with Multi-Day games. It depends upon your preference (if you like fast paced games that you can finish quickly, or slow ones that allow you to think more), and upon your personality ultimately.
RT = fast tourneys for activity? What does that mean?

The 1v1 ladder is more reliable for me. The RT Ladder just isn't much fun.

By fast tourney, I meant quick event. A tourney link will be created when more than ten join the ladder. This very small tourney could just be four players. You gain more rating or lose in tournament.

much more challenging to play quick game against a rated opponent then to wait forever for someone to take their turns in multiday or play random open games against newbs.
templates could use another round of poll voting though.

i usually join for 2-3 minutes and either get a game or leave to go do something else. if there are minimum 3-4 people active in the ladder it usually throws you a game. only way to solve this is to have more people playing the ladder.

These are the templates used in the Real-Time ladder!
What templates are bad and which are good??
I believe Turkey Local Deployments and East Asia are bad templates and should be removed.
