A lot of our members that survived the purge are in the list either because:

1: They are/were important to the clan at a point and we're not kicking them
2: They have a decent amount of total points/levels, and since inactives don't really affect us in any way, we just leave 'em there for a small jump on the (very faulty) real clan ranking.

Thanks though, this thread gave me a really good idea about our situation and who we should be looking to discuss about. Maybe even do a whole new purge.

In fact - a good part of these players are well known alts, and I might as well look into removing the ones we don't use anymore/are of retired players/literally had no use ever.

I'll be looking into all that and messaging the management on a second purge, maybe. Thanks for the lists again, knyte. Both of your threads just now are amazing, extremely complete, awesome to look at.

Technically only dunga is inactive, since Dark Wizard is Miyagi's alt just to have an account in the clan. Miyagi isn't inactive though.

I would define an unused alt as "inactive" but in either case we can't really account for that unless there's a comprehensive list of alts and mains out there. Unfortunately not everyone's alts are as obvious as mine.

@Ox: updated CORP; there's still a good number more you can purge if you'd like. :P I love how Kazuki's and Panda's alts are at the top. Kind of sad to see HumanTorch on there- he was pretty promising. And ofc let's hope Niklas comes back soon.

Damn, the Darklords percentage is lower than I thought it would be.

Maybe you can still use that data to convince Darklordio to boot some of the inactives.

Gotta say its suprising how well diplo clans rank on this one, maybe because social stigma has forced us to pull our socks up.

Well, so % inactivity isn't that useful of a data point. After all, if you added one more player to TRF who went inactive in a month, they won't do any damage beyond occupying space on any lists of clan members. As far as member experience goes, it's really the net activity of the clan that matters- it affects your ability to engage with other members of the clan and to benefit from your clan membership.

I was looking at % inactivity to see if I could get at the more useful statistic of P(player goes inactive in a timeframe of T days|player joins clan X) because I think that better reflects how effectively a clan is able to meet its members' needs, but that can't really be accurately measured because of inactive purging. Ideally, it'd be nice to have a list of former members (say, from 60 days ago) of the clan and see how many of them are still active. Or perhaps to measure how quickly the clan loses a player, on average (perhaps in terms of net gain/net loss or better yet in terms of how long the average player lasts in a clan) but that sort of data isn't accessible, probably not even tracked by Warlight.

The only past data (preserved clan pages on archive.is) I can find are from December 2014- not very useful.

I believe the is a endure in which you can check a page on the internet as it was a specific time ago? You picked the date and it would show it as it was back then. Im on mobile, when I get home Ill look for it.

Yeah, even the Wayback Machine doesn't have frequent enough stuff for me to just track how long a player lasts in a clan without losing most of the accuracy.

Oh. I'm not here to ask you for explanations for inactives. This wasn't meant to put pressure on clans- I just wanted to help y'all out by highlighting inactives that you might have missed, and also get an overall understanding of how active clans are. Personally, I don't think it makes a difference for a clan to have one extra player who's just sitting around- it does get annoying for the managers after a while (when setting up clan games, for example) if there's a bunch of inactives, but I don't think it's reasonable to demand that every clan go for 100% activity.

Meaning don't go bribing knyte for better stats

That said, I do accept bitcoin. Chipotle also works. ;)
