#WeFuckingGetItAlready

I thought that the day was held to commemorate when women were officially allowed to vote in the USA. But nooooooooooooooooooooooo! People use this day especially to remind us all about the nearly nonexistent (if it exists at all) wage gap, that is claimed to be $0.77 given to women for every male $1.00. And then women of color need special attention on this day, as well. And let's not forget that women are sexually abused, or that women don't make up 20% of US congress.

Isn't there an entire month dedicated to these problems? And didn't I have to sit through boring health classes when Blackburn visited my school to tell me that women have it tough?

And why do some people only come out on this day to complain about these things? Are they not important enough for them to talk about on other days?

People are turning "Women's Equality Day" into "Damn Privileged Men Day" and it's getting annoying. I know full well that women getting abused by men is a big problem that needs to be fixed, but don't use this day to promote that stuff, or rather, don't use this day only to complain.

But some people are using this day to promote things that aren't even about gender equality. Bernie Sanders, Presidential candidate, started off by saying that "Women represent nearly two-thirds of minimum wage workers" and that "A living wage should not only be fair, it should be equitable." He said something about having pay equity for women, which it still related, but then finished with saying to "raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour." Come on, man. Again, this day is to remember August 26, 1920, when women's suffrage was made legal, not to push your political agenda.

And the last thing, and possibly the most hilarious thing, that I will rant about today is: In 2020, the ten dollar bill of the US will no longer have President Alexander Hamilton's face shown, but an important female figure of the US. For God's sake, people, what do you have against good ol' Hammy? Why not replace Jackson? He was only responsible for Manifest Destiny. Or what about Ben Franklin? He's not even a president! And the thing is, I don't even know many important female figures of the US. There's Eleanor Roosevelt and Sacagawea, who is a Native American, and that's about it. I know that some first ladies sometimes had to help their husbands out, but is that good enough to be placed on the ten?

Okay that's it. I won't say more. I can't say more, otherwise I'll get hated no even more.

I feel like half of your problems stem from an inability to filter your FB friends list and only see stuff from people you don't actively dislike.

Alexander Hamilton is not a president of the US.

Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Mary McLeod Bethune are some women i could see getting recognition.

Otherwise this was another good vent.

I agree with just about everything you said. Sadly, there are no breaks on the Social Justice train. Enough will never be enough. I suppose it's human nature to become angry when someone has even a crumb more of something than you do.

For God's sake, people, what do you have against good ol' Hammy?

He's not a woman, plus he's the least recognizable so they figure they can throw him out with less reaction.

Why not replace Jackson? He was only responsible for Manifest Destiny.

To be honest I'm shocked that the Social Justice crowd and PC police haven't yet formed a mob to erase Jackson from public view considering what he did to the Native Americans.

I feel like half of your problems stem from an inability to filter your FB friends list and only see stuff from people you don't actively dislike.

Facebook often likes to show you posts from "A friend of a friend," or "A friend of a friend of a friend," and so forth. Additionally, Martian might be one of those people who prefers to see a wide variety of posts so as to keep updated on various events.

To filter any and all information you could potentially dislike is to cripple your own ability to stay informed about what's going on around you.

Alexander Hamilton is not a president of the US.

Neither is Benjamin Franklin, or any of the possible women they're considering to replace Hamilton.

If #WomensEqualityDay was made to celebrate women's suffrage, then it should be changed to #WomensSuperiorityDay. The fact is that the vast majority of men got the vote just a few decades earlier than women, and they only got it because were drafted and needed some compensation for the draft. But guess what? Women got the vote without the draft.

How misandrist does a society need to be for it to be okay to parrot the wage gap myth that everyone knows is a lie? And why is the media saying that violence against women is the worst crime ever, when 3/4 of violence happens to men?

This statistic seems very hard and very ambigous to measure - source it.

Actually, not violence but homicide. But I doubt it's the reverse with violence in general.

People stopped caring about the Indians 20 years or so ago. Seriously, they rarely make the news anymore.

But yeah, Jackson also owned a ton of slaves...

And Hamilton... motherf***ers... he was one of our best founding fathers...
