Well I've been staring at this for ages, and I can't work it out. It seems to be roughly based on population centres, and the sizes thereof, but I don't see how that relates to the numbers (10, 15 & 30).
No, but so many folk make Europe maps that loads of well built maps come out. For Warlight games, generally squares work the best - Poland and Macedonia are popular country maps here. But really, it's as exciting as any other continent.
Anyhow, the map idea - something like the Polish borough map, where the big territories don't count for much, but it's the forts you must capture. But where is Sjaelland? Why is Nordjylland not have it's own island? Moonsund? Balaeres?
The map is from between 1992 and 2002. It's not based on city population, because Warsaw has less inhabitants than Hamburg or Budapest (but is marked red while the others are green). However... It is about something that correlates very well with population.
Lisbon is very well represented for its size.
The map somehow doesn't include Asian Russia, but it does include Syria and Iraq.
Crimea was part of Ukraine a little bit longer. But FR Yugoslavia shows your map is older. Or maybe that has nothing to do with the purpose of the map.
European fleets, European cities. You really thought I would place some american skylines into an european map? Actually the one with the blue circle represents luxembourg city skyline, The green circle saratov skyline and red the london skyline.
well i dont see the map clearly, but i would swear its not population. It would seem Manchester for instance is marked green despite being only the 9th most populated city in the UK... I'm leaning more towards area of each city?
