Wouldnt matter, the last two pages are just trolls talking to each other. Thats all any thread is anymore, Just mindless talk between the same 5-8 people
Since moderation is broken, here's the best of the workaround solutions I know of:
Step 1: Ignore trolls. Really. Ignore the fuck out of them. Step 2: For those who don't ignore trolls, get on their case for not ignoring trolls. Apply social pressure to the good posters to stop feeding trolls. Furthermore, implore them to *also* get on people's cases for not ignoring trolls. (*) Step 3: Repeat.
Eventually, the only people feeding trolls will be total newbs, and they will quickly learn not to feed trolls -- or they will become trolls themselves, in which case, they will be ignored, become bored, and leave.
(*) This is only good for people who aren't themselves trolls. Don't bother trying to tell a troll to ignore trolls. Obviously. Instead, ignore said trolls. Ignore the fuck out of them. See Step 1 for reference.
How to ignore trolls: If a troll creates a thread, don't comment on it. If a troll replies to you, don't reply back. Don't even acknowledge that the troll reply even exists. If you feel the need to report a troll, do so, but do not announce publicly that you did so; do it privately. If nothing comes of such reporting, well, too bad, moderation is thus broken, not much you can do, but at least you did what you could. Now just move on and continue to ignore the fuck out of trolls.
I challenge the current roster of people complaining vociferously about trolls to try this method fastidiously for one month. Currently, you are feeding trolls. Stop that. Take a troll fast. Encourage troll-fasting.
Since moderation is broken, this won't cure the problem, but it should drastically reduce it from current levels.
Honestly, I thought this was pretty much common knowledge, so I'm kinda surprised to find the need to say it. Oh well, at least it's not hard to do, and it's a lesson everyone has to learn eventually, if only for their own peace of mind.
