Dear Reader,

I find that over the years, the United States of America has become what I call a "celebritocracy": A political system in which celebrities with little to no political sense but swarms of fans and cash become national leaders.
Take for example Kanye West, a rapper (I believe), who plans on running for President in 2020. Now I'm fine with the idea that anyone can become President, but why? Why him?
He has money, he's married to another rich not very intelligent person, and they have a child named after a direction. Why go further? Because he could win. And that is what scares me. He has enough people who are his fans (or his wife's fans) to control a significant amount of the popular vote. He doesn't even need to have any stances. No matter what he does, hundreds of thousands of people would follow him and his wife.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (a famous body-builder and actor), became governor of California. I don't know what his political stances were, but I suspect most people voted for him because of his name, and name only. I could compare this to the British Royal Family, but they have done SOMETHING.
Think of it. Millions of people following a person who wa sfamous only by name and stupid actions.

I'm actually writing a satire dystopia about this, because it scares me that a nation will only choose its dumb rich people for political leaders, rather than people with political experience.

Actually I think hes pretty poor by celeb standards. So is Kim. He has earned millions but not hundreds of millions, and I think he reinvests a lot of it so he doesnt have cash to spend on a big campaign. I think its interesting. He is obviously not equipped to deal in geopolitics but are any of the other politicans who are up for election better prepared? Not that it matters but I think he wont run properly. He was just high and elated and said something entertaining to end his long rambling kind of boring speech on a high note.

Their wedding was in Versailles, it was the first time the hall of mirrors was booked by any group for any reason since the signing of the treaty that ended world war one.

They booked the entirety of Disneyland for their child's second birthday. They are two of the richest celebrities in the states and Kanye is amongst the stupidest people on earth, but his arrogance and self-righteousness will win over an annoying amount of voters. He won't win though.

I'd be more concerned about the other egotistical maniac running for president using his celebrity status and complete lack of political experience. At least Trump has some business experience to point to.

The problem is that people in the U.S have become so fed up with politicians that they're willing to vote for just about anyone who champions themselves as NOT a politician.

Essentially, the general public is mad at the people who currently do the job so they're going to vote for people who don't even know how to do the job.

This isn't to say that anyone who isn't a career politician is automatically a bad choice, but we shouldn't let "They aren't a politician" be the sole reason for voting them into office.

We are going to die, Eklipse. Donald Trump is still leading the GOP, and Hillary Clinton is still leading the Democrats. Then we have Kanye West running. If he becomes President, we are going to die. Could you imagine how awful a world summit would be?

Kanye: Hey Putin, I love what you doin' and Imma let you continue, but I just gotta say, that (continue this in your own mind).

Well, we wouldn't die with Hillary in office. The country would just continue slowly decaying under her term, or perhaps the collapse would speed up slightly.

However, the thought of a President Trump in a diplomatic meeting is my greatest fear. How many wars could happen just from Trump insulting people and making threats?

As for Kanye West, I wouldn't be able to take him seriously as President. I doubt the rest of the world would either.

I tend to lean towards the Democrats except in foreign policy and immigration. I'm mostly on board with Bernie Sanders.

But yes. Kanye at the UN would be quite funny, if not humiliating. A Kardashian would be the 1st lady, and the US would look even stupider by having the child of its leader named "North". The Jersey Shore would be the Cabinet, and we'd have decadence and self-promotion worse than Louis XIV of France.

I don't like Trump for some of his views, but a. his stupid looking face, and b. He keeps insulting people to gain more public eye. West would do the same.

Also, nobody has defended Kanye. Odd...

I shudder at the though of Kanye as President of America.......although I don't give 2 shits about politics to begin with.

I'd vote for nobody if they were all celebs. I'd sooner move to The Netherlands and discard my 500 years of English heritage.
