Warlight is an interesting game before it can be played in so many ways. Do you prefer strategic games or do you prefer diplomacy/rp games? What type of gameplay do most clans cater to?
My preference is for "strategic" play (in the sense that I disagree with the way most people seem to run "diplomacy" games - I see them as being exercises in futility a lot of the time), but I don't like the default "strategic" templates or the maps they are typically used on.
I like custom scenarios for FFA or team play, and using settings which produce a variety of strategies and force players to consistently innovate tactics (instead of honing to perfection a very limited set of skills, as in the 1v1 ladder).
RP/diplo are the kind of games where I had the most fun, because you basically have more options and possibilites than basic strategic games such as 1vs1 games. WL allows us to set up and create nice and complex scenarios in an infinite way, and if you play them in a nice map then nice template + nice map = you hit the jackpot.
However I also like to participate in tournaments and interclan games. But I have to admit that basic strategic games have no interest according to me
Diplomacy, because they are easy for a simpleton like me ...Or because I can troll peeps on there... Fizzer will ban me though so I gotta stop.... But I wont stop... Diplomacy>Strategic Fight Now Plz
Eh, I do enjoy RP more. But then again, a good roleplay needs an interesting setting, games that have actual roleplay as the majority of the chat are games set on fantasy maps and sci-fi maps, whereas real-world maps and hypothetical scenarios aren't really much more of a FFA with special rules and an external modifier - smart usage of deceit.
I like a combo of both. I usually play strategic with my main and rp diplos with this account. The strategic aspect fills my need to be a smart stratagist while the rp diplos fill my need for a management aspect.
For those looking for something different i will be hosting game variants. some examples; https://www.warlight.net/wiki/Variants I try to make it as strategic as i can but the main idea is to play something different and have fun.
