I was talking to a player today, and was using some abbreviations for bonuses on the Europe map. He didn't understand what a couple of the abbreviations meant because he has not played much on Europe. I am sure many of you have come across abbreviations used by other players that you didn't know what they meant.

https://www.warlight.net/wiki/WarLight_dictionary includes some of these words. What I would like to see is a new document that includes many more abbreviations, including map specific abbreviations (perhaps one page devoted to each of the major maps or something).

My challenge to all of you is for the community as a whole to make this dictionary. I think if a few players each tackle a few maps that they play often, this can be done quickly and with good quality. This will hopefully help new players learn basic warlight terminology, as well as map-specific abbreviations and terms.

Write here if you are interested in helping with this project and I will create a mail thread in a couple days.

It may make more sense to simply add on to the current WarLight dictionary page with extra sections per map, rather than make a large number of different pages for each map. I just made one such section for Rise of Rome, let me know what you think. If this could be expanded to include more maps I think it could be really useful.

I agree with adding more to the warlight wiki and I like what you added for Rise of Rome, but I also think am aiming for more than 2-3 pages of material for the dictionary. I am hoping for 15-20 abbreviations per map (if needed), and also the definition of basic strategies (Boston triple, naming off territories in major regions, quad picking, triple picking, combo picking, counter, etc.)

I think maybe we could add some more to the warlight wiki without going in depth, but the dictionary should have more terms, and be helpful for almost any term a player wants to know.

I think it would be cool to also include some famous players with one sentence next to their name. For instance:
Szeweningen: well known template-maker, recognized as one of the best all-around warlight players
The impaller: dominated the 1v1 ladder in it's early days
Gui: mysterious alt master; inventor of 20; recognized as a top player
JSA: inventor of the clan league, runs 20 league
Chriscmu: runs/ created many clan events
Gnuffone: best known for his 3v3 Europe skill, his love for alts, and his skill of counter picking
Zaeban: known for revolutionizing picking in strategic 1v1
Pulsey: one of the greatest forum trolls of all time
Fizzer: creator of warlight

You get the idea. I am thinking maybe 25-30 players will be included. If anyone has any nice ideas, feel free to post them here.

I'll help although will be very little help. I can tell you that this is wrong:

16% – The luck is set at 16%. It can be any percentage, but 16% is popular because the often-used 4 vs 2 attack will have a 100% chance of winning, however, a 3 vs 2 attack will have a 80% chance of winning. Often in game or tournament name.
