Today on Under the Microscope, brought to you by *cough*a mysterious alt*cough*, we take a look at The Lost Wolves.

Number of members: 166

Tagline: "A gentleman is simply a patient wolf."
Created: 3/3/2014

One of the largest clans on the site, The Lost Wolves is home to over 150 diplomacy and rp Warlight players(a noticeable portion of which are inactive). Led by Keyes, Zephyrum, and numerous others on the ever changing pyramids of power, the clan has regularly suffered from drama, politics, and at times immature members that tarnish the reputation of their community on the public Warlight forums.

The clan page features a link to the clan's YouTube channel as well as humorous quotes from their leaders. During my time in The Lost Wolves I was invited to several clan games, an overwhelming amount of tournaments, and had access to possibly the most active clan forum on the site. Members of the TLW were constantly buzzing about on the clan forums, discussing anything from Fizzer's newest update to moving on to another game after Warlight becomes unpopular. Many members of TLW were also very passionate about their clan government. New systems of rank and hierarchy were constantly brought up in what at times seemed more like a "nations-simulation" than a WL clan. Pundits of the TLW and other political clans have oft criticized their communities as just preteens who make up for the lack of attention and power that they don't receive in real life with creating fake governments and hierarchies to feel good and important about themselves. Regardless of their WL political ambitions, the members of the clan were nice, generally friendly and casual conversations filled the forum threads, to my surprise I found myself enjoying my time there much more than I had initially expected.

Informative Clan Page: (B-)
Clean/Mature Reputation: (C-)
Member Benefits: (B+)
Clan Activity: (B-)
Unity/Achievements: (D+)
X Factors: (B+)
Overall Clan Quality: [7/10]

*this is just an analysis after staying in the clan for a period. feel free to disagree or discuss further about the clan and possible factors about them i may have missed. Who will be the next clan...Under the Microscope?*

Your criticism is slightly biased towards the Commies at the Falcons such as TroyTheDestroyer, and this is exactly the kind of things they come off with.
The Wolves are a serious rp clan, and they do not take their "government" any more seriously than any other clan.
Their system is less like a pyramid and more like a rectangle, to be honest. There are an equal amount at the top than there are at the bottom.

It's strange how you mention the amount of games and tournaments you were invited to, and discuss their effervescent clan forum, but rate them B- for activity.

Member benefits?
A B+ despite being "invited to several clan games" and "an overwhelming number of tournaments"?

@Pie Fair enough, I can see. They should probably do a lot of trimming.

@Andrew You get bad member benefits because your clan do very little to improve your players' strategic experience. Most of your clan are newbies, strategically, no offence.

it's true, you will get bombarded by games in the lost wolves. i still get bombarded (which is cool with me) and i left the clan months ago. all the government stuff is silly and most of the clan recognizes that, but all that activity does create a bond which leads to more games. and that's a pretty good function for a clan, right?

and i know some of tlw play a game called nation states (i think that's what its called?) which from what i gathered without actually playing it is a nation simulation/rp game. so maybe that has an influence?

ox, i was the guy in the clan trying really hard to get people into strategic games, but honestly there wasn't a whole lot of demand for it. that's not necessarily a bad thing. some people like diplomacy/rp almost exclusively, and it's not wrong, just not what im into.

i hosted a couple of in-clan tournaments and played a few more. and im playing one right now and waiting for another to start. there are maybe about 15-20 people who will join strategic games and tournaments in the clan. it's not a lot, but it is something. i get beat by them every now and then too.

i found your review fair and honest, the government changes more then i would hope but we majoraly keep it the same (everytime we change it stays 70% like the old one but with a new coat of paint that carries over to the next one until the original is just gone), a while back i kicked 90% of the inactive players and alts however with mass recruitment im waiting for a period without new recruits to kick... and as for colonel, your correct on most things except it is basically keyes me (used to be semice riku and houston as well) and zeph who have 90% of the power and everyone else just has a rank and suggests mostly shit ideas except for the 35% that are really good.

Aaaaaaaactually... Most of them just don't show up in forums but play some real-times isolated. There are few who are actually inactive.

Aside from the inactivity part, I do agree with basically everything said here though :3

yeah, that was before riku recruited 10 or so... either way of our 165 we definately have less then 30 that are inactive on warlight as a whole

(we are a diplo clan yet most of our members play Isolated RT and arent invited to that many games though)

Yeah we sorta need to drop some people.

I remember when we had the highest RT Diplo Games out there. Only Slasher really had us beat.

But those were the days of Warlight's peak.

1: That's a stretch, saying that TLW had the best RT Diplomacy Games. They certainly suck now, that's for sure.
2: Slasher wasn't great, either.

It'd be great if you could a special one of these with a few lesser known clans, like you did with the Mongols/W.U. except with smaller clans. If so hopefully us Gentlemen are in it too. :3
