Okay, this may or may not work, but if it is ever going to, I would need 12 TRUSTED people to follow these rules to create a warlight chess game.

1. You are assigned a piece (location on the board) and stay that piece the entire game, you can only move as to how you would move in a chess game.
2. The collective team can only make one attack the entire turn, and only once every other turn to see what the other team did.
3. If the King dies, the whole team must surrender.
4. If you move, you must blockade the territory you attacked from.

Settings Needed to Make the Game Possible:

1. 8x8 Board Map where every territory connects to every other territory.
2. 100 Day Boot Time
3. Surrenders Must Be Accepted
4. Attacking Kill Rate 100%
5. Defensive Kill Rate 0%
6. Blockade Card set to 0%
7. Abandon Card set to 0%
8. No Fog

Even with Settings 4 & 5, is this possible?

If you are interested in playing, say so below.

Well, I recommend you add abandon cards with 0% (all neutrals set to 0). That'll allo for en passent, promotion etc.

1) I can make that
2) lel, nobody is gonna join that
3) No, people will just get booted, and you do not want AI's to play.

I would need 32 TRUSTED people

I don't see that happening

Furthermore, with chess only one side has a move during a turn, not both sides.

How about something different yet similar instead:
2 teams, no chess-rules, instead make a map with different connections between territories,
all players can move the same way(s)
no base-income, each player gets a bonus-income of 1, plus reinforcement card of 1(every turn as long as the whole team is active)
abandon-card for x5 or x10 to stall certain attacks.
The goal is reaching the other side of the map and attack/conquer the bonuses of the other team

I just don't see 16 players playing one side of a chess-game where they all participate in making SINGLE(for the team) moves(every turn, up to 15 players per team would do nothing)

powerpos, I bet I could find 32 players, the challange is emulatating chess closely.

Thank you to szeweningen and lolicon.

You would have to blockade your territory every time you move.

if there is a map like this, i can see it working
no fog/light fog
turn 1, white team gets 1 move
turn 2, black team gets 1 move
1 abandon card a turn

I would be happy to try this out, if we get enough people

(maybe each person could control multiple pieces, or all pieces of the same type to reduce numbers)

Good ideas Skull.

1 Player each of the following:

8 Pawns
2 Knights
2 Bishops
2 Rooks
1 Queen
1 King

That is 12 players.

I will join, it is a good idea. but i think you need a team leader that tells you what move to make. You can make suggestions to the leader, but they have the final say

if one person attacks you need to make sure they can capture it. maybe make a reinforcement of one, that you use when you attack. so every territory will have 1 unless they are attacking.

If someone makes me a tool to connect territories so I don't have to do 64x63 (4032) connections, or has a brute force solution, go ahead.

As for team leader, I think the people on their team should be their own leaders. I will not be playing, just watching, and therefore will make myself a territory connected to one other on the map so it is valid. The map will not be published, because I highly doubt Fizzer would accept it.

You could use this map and create a custom scenario which blocks off the entire map, save for a 8x8 square in the center:

Uhhh benjamin.

8 + (2 x 3) + (1 x 2) = 16

Unless you intend 1 person to play 2 pawns each? ??

Oh wait do you mean 1 player to play as each of the disciplines for one side? 1 player plays all white pawns, another all the Black Knights? (Not racist or batman at all)

@Awesomeguy, how would a knight, queen, rook, or bishop move more than one space then?

Heh, let me answer my own question. Multi-attack. But I am still going to make the map just for fun and decoration :P

@Genghis, my math is correct, so yes :)

@Life You have a point, but team discussion and whatever makes it more fun.

Starting with 50 abandons and 50 blockades for the territories you leave should make it easier.

Also, I'd enjoy playing that. May I? :D

What about Knights? IF you were to move a knight first turn (for some reason) wouldn't that just kill a pawn? Seeing as you'd have to pass through the spot the pawn is located.

The problem remains with MA.
