There is an extremely easy way to avoid joining rigged games, settings. i doubt it was as easy for the elderly to know the conman was cheating them.

I looked through the ToS (Terms of Service) although i couldn't find anything about rigging games being against the rules it was probably terminated because it was an alt. If not then this (which is apart of the ToS) dictates they can terminate an account without or with very little reason.

7. Termination
A. Warlight's Right to Termination
Warlight reserves the right to terminate Your Account, limit or prohibit your participation in any game or game for without any reason. Immediate termination will result for obvious reasons, including, but not limited to, any violation of these Terms and Conditions, improper conduct or abuse by You as set forth in section 13. By registering for an Account, You consent to allow Warlight to access Your Account information to, among other things, investigate complaints or other allegations of abuse. Please note that in certain circumstances where Your Account is closed by Warlight for a violation of these Terms and Conditions, Your winnings may be voided and not returned to You. In such an event, Warlight may use these winnings to defray the costs of administration and enforcement of these Terms and Conditions.

I guess it might not be as easy as one thinks. I keep seeing people falling for it (even players with high levels). Some people join many games every day, but honestly will you always check all settings carefully each time before you join a game?

If the host says it is a lottery or strategic game (using the standard template), people generally trust the host. People do not expect they are so ill-minded to set up fake ones.

Yes rigged games are against the rules. I'm certain about this. They are actually cheating to win, and cheating is not permitted. He talked about it briefly in the live chat last time. I reported many of them. The rigged game which violates the rules will be deleted. The cheater might have points taken away, or a ban (repeated or serious offender).

Some say all reports will be processed, but it doesn't look like so in reality.

It's interesting. Tyrion was undoubtedly a horrific person on the forums, but when he was playing as part of our clan, he was actually a reasonably good member, making good scenarios, and not acting toxically in game. I suppose it shows that trolls just want to troll, and play the game in a normal manner when they're not.

It's custom scenario on a lottery map. They're that stupid and joining is basically helping the host level up. And the elderly couple lost something of worth.

regardless of what anyone thinks about cheaters and those that get cheated, warlight is a business. and businesses don't like to lose money. if an inexperienced player finds too many games like this they will simply quit playing, and fizzer will lose money. it doesn't matter whether or not a person reads the settings. it doesn't matter who is to blame (though blaming the victim and excusing the cheater is pretty shitty). the only thing that matters is getting new people to play and keep them playing. rigged lotteries accomplish neither of those things, and may drive new people away. if fizzer is smart he will stop this sort of thing.

i suggest a big fat pop up when you click on a CS game that says something like: "this game uses a custom scenario which may be unbalanced and unfair. please read the settings carefully before joining". then maybe add the option to turn off the pop up in settings. and i think making all CS games practice is a good idea.

also, from my experience in playing diplos, too many people don't know how to view the scenario. a more visible "view scenario" button would help a lot. maybe put it right on top in the settings or as an extra button in the lobby.

maybe you think it's more work for fizzer to coddle noobs, but it is also potentially more ad money/memberships/etc. (good for fizzer), which may lead to more updates, better servers, warlight continuing to be viable, etc (good for us).

I don't even understand we we allow lotto games at all (rigged or not). It undermines the membership, which basically offers nothing someone can't unlock by playing a bunch of lotto games. It is not a great business model to allow people to bypass a significant revenue stream so easily. I know we can hide these games, so it doesn't really bother me at all. I just don't understand the business side there.

We just end up with higher level people who have never really learned how to play.

Experienced players should know better than to fall for rigged games, but noob to mid-level players aren't always that aware. Also, I don't find myself being a fan of the logic that joining a rigged game is totally the fault of the person conned and that the rigged game maker should somehow be free of blame.

I would. Let the conman get away with stealing that is. Also theres something I do to avoid rigged matches, I dont join matches, I only host that way ik what the settings are which map it is and if everything is balanced without having to check. I also tell anyone who thinks im cheating to take it to forums. As you can see no one has complained thus far and I obviously trust myself not to rig matches.
