how would you feel if you were playing chess and you tried to take your opponents piece based on tons of calculations and predictions and then a luck indicator tells you that you can't take that piece? Nobody would put up with luck in a professional strategy game and i think it is stupid that we had to put up with it in this strategy game. As for calculating your opponents every move, that is just part of being a better tactician. live with it.

isnt there more players in the ladder now than before? i remember 360-something right before the change, now there is 387. maybe it is less elite players now, i have no idea about that.

im confused, where did you find that number? on the 1v1 ladder page it says 387.
edit: i see 312 ranked, the extra amount is either people in their provisional period or finishing games started before they left the ladder. and who knows how many people in the ladder are inactive and getting booted from games but not yet kicked from the ladder. all in all the numbers can't be that drastically different than before the change.
but there is a lot of flux right now with some adapting better than others to the changes. and at least half of my opponents are still attacking neutrals with 4 even when it's obviously unnecessary.

warlight isn't 1:1 comparable with chess. warlight is a risk based game, only moving around armies by calculation isn't fun. sr promotes simple strategies. it's not more strategic on the ME/MME map, it's less. when i was a worse Player, i prefered sr too, cause i could take out better opponents just by investing some more calculating time. if you don't believe me that wr is more strategic than sr, i can't help you, cause you don't know how to Play wr.

I am growing in rating too fast unlike the real-time ladder. I am 100 % sure that there are many many players better than me in 1 vs 1 but I am still rank 73...
The gap of rating in the top 50 is disconcerting.
Is there more people playing in CLOT Ladders ?
When another 1 vs 1 tournament like M'Hunters will be created ? I am bad tournament host.
=================================
The exploit with people qualifying too fast needs to be fixed. Some players have best rating of 2000 but quickly fall under 1600 after their first *ranked* games...

wr is also more real world. The most efficient market there is (the stock market) can only be diversified down to 32% systematic risk.
wr makes more sense in terms of strategy because it requires not only risk management, but also more diverse strategies. In sr I have gotten typically 1 of 3 games, depending on how the wastelands are spread out. Sometimes I win because I am more tactical, sometimes I lose, but the intro and move order is the same. In wr the incentive to go for smaller bonuses and double spawning is increased which would lead to more diversified starts.
Something that I would like to see in addition to wr is variable kill rates. That is on a given attack / defense not only do you have to consider the wr and risk in the attack, but also variance in kill rates. This combined w/ the wr would more resemble the stock market as relatively neutral outcomes would be the most common, but high volatility would still be possible.
