When performing a boolean operation (Crtl+-) in Inkscape, my map now is deciding to completely hide the path that showed the separation. Any ideas why this happens? I can provide pictures if necessary, though I'd prefer not to. It's not a layer issue as I only have one layer.

EDIT: FIXED! The problem was that I had made the outline into a Path from stroke by accident and couldn't reverse it. I fixed it by deleting all off one half of the line.

Also, when I click to edit nodes, it show a node on each side of the path instead of one on each point. Can I turn this off somehow??

EDIT: I fixed this, just the first problem
