I've decided to watch an anime series.

But with so many choices and diehard fans fighting each other, I don't know where to start. One person reccommended Future Diary. Here are the restrictions:

1. NO DRAGONBALL. I watched it and it was both annoying and way too confusing.
2. No hentai/catgirls/whatever sexualized stuff you can find in anime

Sort of well known but short and funny anime: Watamote

hunterxhunter, naruto are great

Death Note, SAO are good and not to long series to start with.

One Piece, Fairy Tail, Naruto and Bleach are good series that are quite long.

Also Clannad is good, but is very much about the story where a lot of other animes are also about action.

Also "Danganronpa: Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei The Animation" is fun to watch, but fairly unknown.

You know future diary has boobs of the uncensored kind. Every anime has fanservice.

watch overlord it's MUCH better than SAO.

and one show that i really recommend but is heavy on sex jokes is "a boring world without the concept of dirty jokes" but the show its self has a great story, characters and deals with how messed up society can get by banning sexual education.

Agreed, FAB > FA

Tokyo ghoul was the other reccomended one. My friend explained the basis and it sounds pretty cool. Death note I've heard is good.

Tchaikovsky Reborn, don't listen to Loli and Min34. Watch The 2003 series of Fullmetal Alchemist first. They are both great series, and I agree that Brotherhood is the better of the two, but you won't waste your time if you watch the first series.

See, when you watch the first series first, you will think that it is awesome and you are not sure hor Brotherhood could be better. Then you watch Brotherhood second and you get another dose of awesome at the fact that it was really awesome. You won't get two doses of awesome if you watch Brotherhood first. Heed my warning.

There are some anime below that have been mentioned above, so sorry for any repeats. Good series are as listed:

Baccano - Confusing as hell until the final few episodes where everything is tied into a neat little bow. It's kind of a work of art just by being able to do that.
Durarara - It's something, that's for sure.
Food Wars is good, but it is not the best series of 2015, as Loli claims (in my opinion, of course).
CODE GEASS - This show has a good handful of fanservice but brother, it's one of the best stories to come out of any form of entertainment in while. Unlike Death Note, the ending won't underwhelm you.
Death Note - It's probably something anyone should watch before they die.
Cowboy Bebop - same as above.
Trigun - The debut of voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch. it is old but gold.
Soul Eater - The first three episodes troll the viewer into thinking it is something that it isn't, but it does introduce the characters.
Deadman Wonderland - gory gory what a helluva way to die.
Naruto - THE FIRST SERIES ONLY!
Bleach - THE FIRST ARC ONLY!
One Piece - I have watched every episode and am currently caught up with it. The show is ridiculous. But for some reason I can't stop watching it.
Arslan Senki - Now this is the best anime of 2015. It is a remake of the Heroic Legend of Arslan that was made years and years ago, so the artwork is pristine. Good story. Fantastic animation. Amazing music. Little fanservice. Must watch.
Attack on Titan - it's good, but don't get too hyped up due to the fans of it.
The Seven Deadly Sins - It's more or less Dragon Ball Z incognito when it comes to how stupidly powerful everyone is, but there's just something about it that makes it good.
Hunter x Hunter 2011 - Probably the best long running shonen anime made.
Angel Beats - Manly man tears were shed.

and also the heroic legend of arslan. That was really good and has the same art as FMAB.
and Kuroko's basketball. best description of it is basketball Z i really enjoyed it.
and you have to watch FREE. sexy af boys swimming it is love.

you know i had forgotten about arslan i really loved that show although some of the 3-d models were odd.

Yes, some didn't seem to fit in perfectly.

Fate/Zero is one of the best anime ever created. You should consider watching it
