yeah flyinburrito you are good enough to win a free membership tourney anyways, but the point is eventually the ladder will be full of nonmembers who just farm, and that now members have no benefits

Cruel world we live in.

I bought membership ages ago to support Fiz. Back then only members could make tournies and play in ladders. It seemed like you had better quality games all around when that was the case. I'd prefer a reversion back to the old way of things or else add in benefits that aren't handed out at any level. People need a reason to buy things, not everyone has a big heart and is willing to donate(no matter how many hours of fun they get out of it.)

Well, for all those who purchased memberships, they got to enjoy membership benefits for a long time until WL 2.0 came out, so I don't understand how you guys are ripped off. Its like buying an Iphone 4 right when it comes out, instead of waiting for the next model to come out, than buying the Iphone 4 for a cheaper price. Do the people who bought it right when it came out feel ripped off? Of course not. They got to enjoy the iphone 5 before others.

I expect demand for memberships to continue, though will decrease greatly, If Fizzer thinks he can make enough through ads, than thats good news.

But there is a thing that would appease me:


a MEMBER BADGE!

Some people bought their membership later then you did Pulsey so that argument doesn't fully go up...

and the awesome shiny member badge cant be seen because of lvls, so it is off the screen during a 1v1

He just took the {RSP} All-Member account for himself.


Anyway, I am no fan of this, unless there are some restrictions:

Only non-members who prove themselves worthy can bypass the $30, and although Flying does deserve this, it will fill the ladders with unneeded players.

I can count on one hand the amount of non-members that are good.

What's preventing the farmers who override bonus values from getting that ladder accessibility? As long as they have patience we will have a ton of people who don't know what they're doing here....

did anyone buy a membership after they reached level 52? The people who bought a membership recently haven't reached the top level, so they saved themselves a lot of time levelling up...

Nevertheless, I suppose it can be frustrating for some who purchased a membership very recently... they were hoping for member-only options but only received a shortcut...

One thing i want to know...
Do non-members have access to all ladders? Or is it just the 1v1 ladder?

Hmmm... not a smart move of Fizzer. Not much into being a member now. I used 3 vacations a year and don`t really mind the adds. The ladders were the reason I became member. This is just stupid.

pulsey, everyone bought the membership because it was something for life... did they pay for something for life which would be available without buying?
about the lower quality players, it is true that there are members with lower quality, and as the number of players in the ladder increases it will be harder and harder for players with much lower points to play with players on higher point lvls, and the increase in ladder players wotn affect the game play much.
My only problem with all this si that membership is basicly ireelevant by now... the idea itself ma not be as abd as all that, though fizzer shoudl arraneg some worthwhile new feature for members (and presonalized m's wont do it)

Yeah, I only became a member because I love making large custom scenarios. I am always fair in my distributions and bonuses, but non members are slowly unlocking the power to create so called "diplomacy games" that are not fun where they set a one minute autoboot and give themselves huge bonuses so they can win 24 or whatever FFAs. They give reputable large scenario makers like myself and other true Diplo fans a bad name.

So, the membership is useless, besides the badge? Meh.

yeah, and now that nonmembers can create tourneys, so many idiots create the worst tourney ideas possible, and then like hellbender said, so many games just made to level up so people can get stuff they used to be unable to get..., for the point idea to work, it needs to only be on standardized games, like you only get points for the auto game, or on a template fizzer determines actually decent, not duel with changed bonus values
EDIT: that is because you are a hypocritical nonmember, if you were a member that payed thirty dollars, TO USE THE MEMBER ONLY FEATURES, you would be pissed if a few months later suddenly all of those features are available to everyone

@ WGchris, no I have few granfathered achivements I unluck myself when WL 2.0 come out. Past games don't give lots of points. I played a lot and unlock achivement myself. Points are earned in majority by games anyway.

To avoid mistakes, I didn't need to farming no one.

BTW I NOW need a player that join me in the 2v2 LADDER.
