I put this suggestion onto Uservoice, but wanted to throw it here to make people aware it's there.

It would be nice if we could have a map rating system with an additional option to sort the user-created maps. For example, each registered account would be allowed to rate each map one time, with a number from 1-5. Then, when creating games we could sort all the maps by the newest created, highest ranked, most played, etc... (a la Youtube type services)

This allows new users to see the most popular maps without having to play through 30 different maps and allows map creators to tweak their maps based on playability.

You should go vote for it :-)

Also you should have to have played the map to vote on it.

I did see it Knoebber, but it was fairly different than what I posted. Your suggestion just notes a rating and commenting system. Mine is asking for a complete sorting system based on not only rating, but date created, newest, etc...

I'm not totally agree with this because new user will play only the same maps.
Sincerly i'm tired of seeing ever the same maps, europe and world, some time small world. There are plenty of maps that people never played and i'd wanna see a wide range of games to join, not only the same :D

That's only my opinion. On the contrary i'd prefer to see on the home page maybe the newest map or maybe the last 3 created maps :D
