I will post a daily/bi-daily question on this thread. Serious replies only please!

Question #1
"This is what history consists of. It's the sum total of all the things they aren't telling us." — Don DeLillo, Libra.

What is history, who are "they," and what aren't they telling us?

As the old saying goes 'history is determined by the winners' so they and the winners. But in modern context history is not that but everything that ever happened to everything and everyone, in the past.

Although it kind of makes sense in some contexts that history might be determined by the winners, the saying is 'history is written by' or better 'favours' the winners.

apples are red or green. while oranges are orange. If you're colorblind, oranges are circular while apples are heart shaped.

Next question.

Did you know the colour orange is named after the fruit?

Also an orange has 8 times as much citric acid in it's juice as an apple.

Hey, aren't those the essay prompts for Stanford or UChicago? I'm pretty sure I've seen those before.

Haha, that was a brilliant idea. Too bad it didn't work. Also, good luck; I'm in the same boat as you man.
