Hey guys. I recently made it to my first proper tournament final. When I say 'proper' I mean played on a real map, not a silly round robin thing on a 'duel' map for a bit of fun. The tournament had already been going for around a year, so we'd been waiting for a while. We lost...I thought that was the end of it before realizing we had to play them again due to the fact they were from the Redemption side of the draw. That match is still in progress. The reason for this thread is something different though.

I'm simply curious as to who's won the most proper tournaments. I enjoy team tournies because they allow you to get to know and work together with a group of other players. But I wonder who from the WL community is the most skilled at doing exactly that?

Please also outline any of your experiences if you wish :D

I've won four or five. Gaia's won a bunch. It's the quality of the competition not the numbers that matter though.

I agree with Duke. me and crafty have won a fair amount of 2v2 tourneys however.. and i managed to bomb a souble elimination 4-5 bracket tourney by losing twice in the championship game once, lol

I think I've won two? These were 4v4 and 3v3 though, so not as much of accomplishment as 1v1 or 2v2.

Idk, i find playing 3v3 4v4 5v5 incredibly difficult, because it's hard to find people i am cohesive with.. especially long enough to win a tournament :P

Well, in the 3v3 one I had two FBG teammates (and all of them are at least mostly good ;) ), and the 4v4 was on Big Poland map, and it was basically "1 person builds up until he has half of map, the others poke enemies" ;) Luckily, we managed to poke our enemies better than they.

Okay, here we go. I just counted. I'm going to separate these in different sections

1v1 1st place:
1 (64 players) -- Double Elim
1 (32 players) -- Double Elim
2 (16 Players) -- Single and Double Elim

1v1 2nd place:
1 (64 players)
1 (16 players)

Team 2v2 1st place:
8 (7 with WSUPapaSmurf)
2nd places: 2

Team Tournaments (variable size/maps):
6 first places
1 second place

I have a lot of tournaments that still have to finish and I'm in the Championship game in a few.

Keep in mind that I've been playing for over 2 years and I was on the site before tournaments were even created. Also, I like to acknowledge second place finishes because it takes a lot to get there.

I started to go back through my tournament history and realized how many of them are stalled out right now because two or more people aren't playing. That's a little frustrating.

I have several where i made it just short of champ games, *4+ brackets each*

6 2nd
4 and 4 if don't count past 2 teams per game

me and crafty play mostly RR games, so i had to include them to even show we play together, lol

I can definitely see how hard it is for Randy to put Tournament stats in the profile because how do you value each one when each one has very different settings/people/maps/and size.

Just add an optional "trophy" line to the profile where it lists the name of the tournament, type of tournmanet (1x1, 2x2, 3x3x3, ect) and number of players. Make it a link to the tournament page.

and make it an additional option toshow it, similar to the games victories

I've won 4 1v1 tournaments, 5 team tournaments and 2 free for all tournaments. I've had a number of 2nd places in both team and individual tournaments, but I didn't count those up.

Waya and KleytonManning are the two players who have teamed up with me for the most team tournament wins, although I believe Duke and Ruthless are probably getting pretty close as well.

I like team tournaments a lot when I am playing with people I know and mesh well with and hate them a lot when I'm playing with people I don't know or don't agree on orders with. I tend to avoid playing in team tournaments unless I'm teamed up with someone I know.

Oh, guys, now I feel pathetic about my profile page. I've decided to put all my wins in tourneys on it but most tourneys stucked and I still have just 2 wins (which were not too hard).

Thanks OP for this thread, now I know some new teams to compete with.

Btw, what are the most suitable settings for 2v2 matches? I'm asking cause I want to create some games, invite guys from this thread and maybe even beat someone:)
