This is my first map I have made, and because it was my first, I made a fatal mistake... I forgot to put bonus boxes in... the map looks like this:

I'd say that it is superb, it is designed to be a roleplay diplomacy map, with each territory being its own bonus. So now I have a problem, I have used all this time making a highly detailed map an naming most of the territories, but I am not sure how to set up bonuses, and since I have a new computer, the file I used to upload this map is gone, and I cannot edit it. Is there anyway to recover the file from warlight so I can add bonuses boxes (can someone explain how to put them in) and to add some new territories and remove some awkward territories

First thing's first: in the editor (Multiplayer/Design Maps/Edit Selected Version, which I assume you already know!), you can click the "Download Stored SVG" button to get the file off the server so you can edit it.

To add bonuses, click the Bonuses Window button and click Add New Bonus, then fill out the boxes. Now click on a territory you want to be part of that bonus and look in the left pane. Click the checkbox under the new bonus you just added, then do the same for all of the territories you want to be a part of that bonus.

I'm just figuring all this stuff out too, but the Wiki is pretty comprehensive and there are several videos on it as well if you look for them. Scenarios took me a couple minute to figure out, but it's fairly intuitive if you just tinker around a bit.

At first glance, your map drawing skills would seem to be quite good. :)

I assume you're designing a world map of today. So, concerning the names of two cities in Turkey:

Constantinople -> Istanbul
Antioch -> Antakya

and it is "Sivas", not "Sivazs".

Few remarks:

For a first map this is extremely promising.

The different islands of French polynesia all have a different territory, maybe they're not that significant so it's not necessary.

There are some unintuitive connectinos across the north pole. When you make the connections try to find a clear way to show them. Same with islands.

When you decide on the bonuses, consider making the space between the territories bordering the bonus a bit wider, so that it is clear where the bonus borders are.

Its having a territory named "Muslim Russia"

I definitely like all the islands you included.

It is unique because it is a malleable and detailed map of earth that can be utilized for essentially any any scenario needed. As to the naming of "Muslim Russia" It was named this way because it comprises a region of Russia where the dominant religion is Islam, contrary to the rest of the nation, this is a noteworthy feature of the region, I don't understand why that is so strange. On Bulgaria and French Polynesia, I agree that Polynesia can be simplified to one or two territories and Bulgaria should be split, I also intend to simplify Korea. There are some other things I intend to change as well. How would I better define the borders in terms of bonuses. And what do you mean if the map can't hold decimal numbers? this feedback is extremely helpful. anything you think could be improved please tell me!

The divisions of Romania is pretty weird as well. Change it to Transylvania, Wallachia and Moldavia or Transylvania and Romania or just the NUTS1 boundaries. Also, China and India should be split more.
