Am I weird for getting really pissed off at low-voter turnout? My friends and family never understood this deep-seated rage I have at people who take their ability to vote for granted. Especially young people. Oh man don't even get me started on youth voter turnout...I think it was something around 22% for the 2014 Midterms. I think I punched my wall multiple times when I saw that data. Americans are shitty...yeah I know you don't trust your government or like the candidates or couldn't care less but for god sake the less you vote the more likely shitty candidates win. You don't even have to vote for the candidates listed if you really don't like any of them!! Write-in a candidate you like or respect...heck it can be yourself. Just go ******* vote.

I think less people should vote. Low participation shows that people do not respect this system and want it to change. It is a silent protest.

We should protest by not voting, to show that there are no good enough candidates for us to vote.

I am waiting for the day, where no one votes anymore except the politicians.... That is going to be funny.

@berdan - doing nothing changes nothing. A silent protest is as good as having said nothing. Remember Edmund Burke - "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Our generation and society is shooting ourselves in the foot.

A population that won't vote is what politicians want, though.

Berdan is right;most the folk that don't vote know that it does not count or are too uneducated on the candidates to vote.

Yesterday at the polling booth I saw a teen telling her mother how to vote. If that doesn't get you mad nothing will.

Gives you hope for the next gen tho.

Voting in Scotland isn't a problem, as SNP will win no matter where you live. Wohoo! :D

The Pennsylvania voting turnout for three Justices in state court was only 32%...

Young people with zero work ethic enrages me.

You think 32% is bad? LOL NJ voter turnout was reported to be as low as 5% of all eligible voters. My school board and council members were so proud we tripled it to 16%...that's so pathetic I felt like punching them.
