I'm not talking about the crazy b*tch from England, I'm talking about the legend of Bloody Mary. If you write her name on a mirror with the lights off and chant her name three times, she will appear and try to kill you, or so the story goes.
Is this just a U.S. thing, or is this a superstition known throughout the world? We're talking about Folk and Popular culture in my AP Hum. Geography class, so I'm a little curious at the moment.

"Hanako of the toilet" (Japanese ghost haunting toilets and like Bloody Mary if you shoot her name you die. Actually kinda similar to Moaning Myrtle of Harry Potter, certainly both linked)
In the anime series Haunted Junction Hanako-san is a school spirit "helping out" boys on the toilet. Episode 6 completely focuses on Hanako and one episode shows the various versions of the ghost Hanako.
