Part of this game is doing something nobody expects, and hoping, just hoping you come off victorious, and if not, atleast make the other people worry.
At some point in every game I believe to win you have to make a leap of faith, and thats what I love about this game.

That is all, Bonch philosophy people, you know I make sense.

Typical story: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy plays WL, Boy finds girl, girl doesn't like that boy now plays WL all the time, boy decides that he'd prefer playing WL than being with a girl who doesn't like that he plays WL all the time, Boy looks for new girl...

I love it when I'm playing so-so in a team game but my enemy and I are locked horns and neither is gonna win this one we both know it. But by the time we look up from our death grip, I see that my side is victorious and I fall down exhausted in the field of battle.

I wouldn't call them leaps of faith.

I'd say you roll the dice in 3-4 player games when you attack one player, because you don't want to attack when one is significantly stronger than the other, either way, and you don't want them teaming up against you.

in any FFA, diplomacy is key, as well as making yourself seem just as strong as you want to appear... not to strong as to be a threat, but strong enough not to mess with.. and always as if you have an enemy \*just past* your border

I had one game, 3 man ffa, where we all had a central border line.. several times i would pull my armies away from their lines, and tell them i am getting tore up from the other one and we had to work together, just to pile up those units just behind the lines, til it was finally clear to both of them that i was actually the bigger of the 3 of them..

So why is that story typical, Duke? I would have understood it's typicalness for you if you've said that you are divorced. But you are not. I know few married boys (but you) who play WL without any problems with their girls. Even more, I know a couple playing WL together. Of course you may call this conformance exception, but I will still maintain unsure that WL community mostly consists of boys who can't combine their personal life with playing WL.

As I said, my secret is that I play from the office. If I play from home it's usually late at night after my wife is asleep.

I tend to play most of my Warlight games at work or when I'm on my own in my dorm, so my girlfriend doesn't have a big problem with it as I'm not taking up time I'd otherwise be spending with her... The only problem is when I use it to help me procrastinate on homework...then Warlight becomes the enemy, haha.
