After the previous thread was moved to off-topic, it got less visibility behind all of the other garbage on there. Now, there are talks between jz and I about automating this very similiar to current CLOTs, with a few changes.

- Random Template out of a pool of 10+
- Multi-Day with 3 Day Boot
- "Join Ladder" Button is "Step into Tall Grass"

So, Bjarke and I (through the help of Knyte) made this crazy spreadsheet with tons of things to make our lives much easier.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1imR8T5whGvShJokDOpmx5Esndl2Cm--JQfCq94Pb6Ho/edit#gid=0

Now, this thread will be the thread you need to reply in, in order to be in the tall grass.

Here were some of my ideas for this CLOT:
Joined players would be able to set the max number of games (from 0 to 15).
There would be a challenge button that allows you to pick an eligible player to challenge.
The challenger would be able to select a template from a list, or use a random template.

I may eventually do a "Sweet Scent" setting that you would be able to activate. It would last for a short period of time (about 30 minutes), highlight your username, and move you to the top of people to be challenged. Ideally, this would allow two users who are currently online to play a (multi-day) game at a real time pace.

@JZ, that is a great idea.

I would also like to implement a money system (maybe with coins, but most likely figurative money) that allows you to purchase items. Possibly like a great ball/master ball that allows you to capture players without necessarily having to battle them. Not sure if you could add potions, as that would probably amount to be an unfair advantage in game, but that would be nice.

You could also use this money for other items such as Expert Belts to play on unconventional settings, or Smoke Balls to decline a game without losing experience.

Btw, still in the tall grass.

^ To add on to what AWESOMEGUY & Jz said:

I am planning to make 3 sheets for Pokemon battles - 1v1, 2v2 & 3v3. Along with this, you will be able to "Throw a Pokeball" (Just say in game chat) on Saturdays. If you lose the game, you are captured by the person who threw the pokeball. If you throw the pokeball and lose the game, nothing happens. Multiple people would be able to be captured by different trainers.

If jz and I (mostly would be jz) make this CLOT, we could have a Pokemart, where you can spend XP on, of which we do not know yet.

I would like to have a map that you can navigate (based off of the Kanto Region map), in which you can find different types of Pokemon in different parts of the map. I guess now would be a decent time to make part of the framework.

Lose Game (Whether it be 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3) = Same thing as having all of your Pokemon faint in a real game - you go to the closest Pokecenter that you have entered.

Pallet Town - you can capture one Pokemon for free (A pool of available people).
Route 1 - you run into one weak Pokemon.
Viridian City - you buy Pokeballs for 100 XP each.
Route 2 - you run into two weak Pokemon.
Viridian Forest - you run into one good Pokemon, and two weak trainers.
Route 3 - you run into three weak Pokemon.
Pewter City (Gym) - you face Shyb on Battle Islands. (If this were made we would get rid of the level requirement).

Well, now we can say the Pareto Principle applies to the Warlight Pokemon Ladder:

79% of the Total XP is held by 19% of the People on the Spreadsheet

Anyway, I want to give an incentive for more people to play this, so I am Doing a Veterans Day (Wednesday) Blitz, for all Team games, with a modifier of 3, to show the incredible teamwork that our Veterans used.

*does not step into grass, just to be clear*

Make sure you implement the most basic stuff first. Then adjust and expand.

knyte is right. It'll be very simple to begin with.

My primary goal with this is to create a ladder that encourages people to play fairly quick, fun, no pressure games with each other. There will never be a penalty for losses.

Purchasable features that could be added would be special templates, the ability to "blacklist" a template or two that you don't like, and possibly a pokeball that lets you capture a friend (you would then be able to make them challenge someone else and earn some exp if they win for you).
