I like this rule set. I may consider using this in the future as it clears up any grey areas in normal diplo rules.

I generally in find I have my own ruleset that I employ in all games, but this is an excellent concept. Mine is as follows: 1. You must declare war to attack, do so a turn in advance (declare turn X, send orders turn Y) 2. Alliances are allowed and unlimited, but must be declared in public chat 3. Don't troll, spam, or be annoying or obnoxious in general 4. Please Roleplay (Optional but strongly advised) 5. Failure to follow the rules will make you PE, PE's can be attacked by any and all players without declaration, and non-PE players should do so, though they are not required to.

OnlythePie, the purpose was more or less what LoaTBaC said. I wanted something to clear up a lot of grey areas. People always talk about the ¨General Rules¨, but they don´t actually exist. I´m thinking about a final change or two to the list. Should I keep the PE section where it is, allow a vote to make someone not PE anymore, and/or make it so PEs are declared by a majority vote?

I also saw one with a rule that said although the declarer of war had to wait, the defender didn´t.

My big thing to do with this is to try and make it onto the Warlight wiki so there is an actually official rule set. However, I need general public agreement before hand. This will help prevent grey areas, grumpy people, and still leaves room for personal game changes (at the very top in ¨()¨). People could just set up a link to the rules.

I disagree with some of these rules, so they do not receive my approval, plus it seems rather bad to have a single set of rules.

Which ones do you think are wrong,
do you think most of them are agreeable,
and did you notice the part where it is so you only put adjustments to standard set of rules? That allows you to do your stuff with ASOIAF maps, and other personal preferences.
This is partly to recognize the fact that a lot of games just say ¨Normal Diplo Rules¨ the end. Confusing to new players, and some people do have different ideas to what the standard set is. This is what people seem to use the most. The most changed one is the waiting for War to start one. That could be personalized.

Thank you for clarification. The stuff I dislike is the turn protocol on wars. Aso, I'm sorry about the Normal Diplo rules thing, I feel I started it, with a diplo I made on summer in the northern hemisphere.

I think I will make a notice by the Declaring War part that this is easily adjustable from game to game.

This isn´t exactly meant to be read all at once. It is what I think those ¨Standard Diplomacy Rules¨ are, and am looking for suggestions to make them better. The one at the top is horrendous. On the first page, halfway down is an okay one though.

My Ruleset:
1. Declare Turn X, Attack Turn X+1 2. In the result of PEs being made, all wars must break up between any countries adjacent to the PE. 3. PEs can be offered contracts by the player they affected if they choose to, that contract must be fulfilled for un-PEing to take place. 4. Sanction Cards should be mentioned in Public Chat (like denouncing in Civ V). 5. If players/alliances join a war, as soon as the initial war breaks down any people who joined after the initial declaration must stop attacking. 6. Don't boot if players ask you not to. 7. Don't assist a PE. 8. Breaking any of these rules will result in you becoming a PE. 9. Any alliances must state whether they are Communist (no leader) or Capitalist (with leader). Leaders make all final decisions but a majority must be reached before any decision is made in Communism. 10. Game targets, amendments and rules must be followed on top of these.
Is this easier?

I feel like my rules are pretty unambiguous, with the exception of annoying, which is at the host's discretion.
