To get back to the original statement,
Its true that clans do nothin ting to help you win or learn the game, but its a good indication about the types of games the player is likely to join, esp good when making tourneys.

The game however, while based on RISK is very different.

At warlight the turns happen simultaneously, in Risk the turns are taken one player at a time, and the player can decide to continue or discontinue attacking based on how his attacks are progressing. So strategy is very different.

The cards in risk are much more simple and totally different from warlight.
In Risk you collect cards and match 3 to gain troops depending on the turn. There are many more cards with different uses here on warlight.

Even on the original RISK world map, the two games can not be played the same way.

If Fizzer isn't Vormulak, then Fizzer needs to hand over warlight to Vormulak

punching bag you dumb f*** I win half my matches. Also why did you hide your win rate?

i had hidden my win rates on all my accounts before, because some people actually check those before joining a game. unhidden them now. this is my first account though and i don't use it that much anymore hence my fairly low win rates. btw why the hate dude? I even said you could be the master you are acting to be. sounds like you are trying to change topic or something. :P

*ahem*

moving to a more on topic bit.

I would disagree with this. (but agree with everything else Tim said). It depends on the clan you join. Some are not very skilled, as a whole, and so yes, those ones will do little to help you. Some are elite clans, and you are unlikely to learn very much in there, as far as I can tell. This would not be because the members are mean, or unhelpful. Rather, to get into an elite clan, there is generally some pre-requisites, making these also a no-go for the less skilled players.

There are clans in the middle however, who probably can be helpful. Some will require you to have some base level of skill, for entry, but the hurdle is far lower for these than an elite clan. I have only been in the clans LEA and Illuminati, LEA seems pretty mellow about letting people in, if you are not a jerk. While I am not one of the important decision makers in Illuminati, entry does seem to be partially skill based, and probably at least as much, about attitude/behavior. I do not know anything about M'Hunters but they seem fairly open as well.

Some clans focus on teaching more, M'Hunters, Illuminati, Corp, 101st, Acme (later, not yet), possibly Olympus, these are the candidates I know of that should be reasonable.

While it is certainly possible to get a lot better without a clan, by reading guides and analyzing your own games (similar to chess!) it always helps to have a teacher, who can point out errors in your strategy and tactics, etc, looking at the actual game - something a guide cannot really do. This is where it comes in handy being in a decent clan. People are far more likely to spend some extra time helping a clanmate than some random player they just met.

And before anyone starts jumping me for being a clan lover, I did not learn primarily (at first) from a clan myself. Rather, I lucked out and happened to meet some very nice and experienced players who were reasonably happy to have a nooby teammate that would actually listen. Many of them did not join a clan until recently.

tldr: clans are helpful but you have to join one which intends to try and help weaker players, but which also has a roster of reasonably experienced players.

The Lost Wolves is moving towards helping stunt a growth in FFA players in our clan, but we will most likely still be known for being a diplomacy clan.

This is a game of skill. There's always room for improvement.
