Please don't, Hollywood. You have ruined every animated story when you tried to adapt them into live-actions. "Dragon Ball: Evolution" doesn't even have Krillin, not to mention it doesn't follow the story at all. "The Last Airbender" gave me nothing short of cataracts. Why do you think it's a good idea to try your hand at another one, and Attack on Titan at that!

There have been talkings about adapting more anime in Hollywood for years, but nobody has the balls to do it. They even contemplated making a Death Note movie, with Zac f*cking Efron as Light (I guess he does look the part). If you're not going to put your all into it, as Hollywood's attitude has shown, then I say don't try it at all! You can't half-ass this sort of thing, just like when adapting a book series. Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and The Hunger Games are probably the first three series to come to mind when I say "book adaptations," because they weren't half-assed. Did you know that Eragon got a movie? No? That's because it sucked. It got half-assed, and it obviously didn't get a sequel. The same thing applies to adapting any other medium, especially with anime and manga, because the fans of this medium are the most hardcore fans of any medium of entertainment. Don't believe me? Go and piss off a Fairy Tail fan. I've done it. It's very entertaining, but I digress.

Don't adapt anime or any other medium if you don't put your all into it. And don't pick the wrong anime to adapt. AoT? Really? Japan already did that, and it sucked. One would need a budget to buy the US out of debt to have the Titans turn out good. Now Baccano. Baccano needs a good adaptation. Maybe Quentin Tarantino as the director.

I didn't like AoT, so please. PLEASE, PLEASE freaking ruin the series.

Death Note would be really cool as a live action. Fairy Tail might be another good one? Or perhaps Samurai Champloo? Definitely some good anime that can be adapted.

But onto the topic of why live action anime is bad. Id like to draw your attention to, Pacific Rim. Decent movie. Pleasing visuals. Meh story.

Perks
1.)Kick ass killer mechas.
2.)Aliens.
3.)Massive City battles.

Cons
1.)Aliens.
2.)Stupid characters(Yes guys, lets build a giant wall to keep giant aliens out of major cities. Ducking brilliant. )
3.)Pointless drama shots.(lets airlift a giant robot suit 50 feet away so we can have a cool shot of it falling in the ocean. Because an alien is attacking the city and we have time to kill.)
4.)Twilight had a better love story.
5.)Aliens from the ocean....really?

I could really go on about this. But numbnuts, why Pacific Rim? Because you idiot, giant aliens and mechas is a Japanese anime thing.


Lets look at another, shall we? Speed Racer. Yes, Speed Racer was an anime.

This movie....I lack the words...to describe this movie. But I will try.

Pros:
1.)SOME funny lines.
2.)Absolutely nothing else about this movie is great.

Cons:
1.)Everything.

There are some great, mature anime shows out there that dont have all the boobie boobie stuff. Those are the ones that should be live action. There really is some great potential.

Samurai Champloo would be really good as a live action movie

hunger games was a shitty adaptation imho. the books were way better.

death note does have a live action, not made in hollywood though (thank goodness).

pacific rim did feel like it was an anime adapted by hollywood into a live action. which was even more wtf considering it was a guillermo del toro movie. very weird that it still managed to be half decent.

the best example of successful live action adaptation of manga/anime so far was rurouni kenshin imho.

AOT has been made live action by japan and it sucked hard.

I am talking about Hollywood thinking about making an Attack on Titan movie, which they would title "Attack on the Titan." Apparently Levi wasn't in the Japanese movie because he would be in the Hollywood one, and they didn't want both movies to be so similar.
