I've been on Warlight for several years and I think getting membership is a great way of supporting indie gaming. However what am I honestly getting?

I already have full access to all the ladders, I don't care about the bomb card and I'm immune to warlight ads because they advertise stuff I have no interest in. The only interesting thing that membership gets is CLOT development. Frizzer needs to provide better features for members.

So I have a question for players who are members, particularly those who bought membership in 2015/2014. Why did you pay for something that you could otherwise get for free?

I do wonder what the numbers are for memberships. Mainly how they may or may not have dropped from creation to now.

Personally I'd wait to get a membership. Either Fizzer will revamp what you get so it's actually worth it or he'll set up some sort of "Patreon" or Donation deal. I can see a fair few players just donating for the cause.

For the amount of fun I have playing Warlight, I almost feel guilty if I'm playing it free :P

I asked fizzer in a stream once, he said about the new addition of viewing recent games between highly ranked players. Which still doesn't make $35 seem worth it.

If I bought a membership now it will probably be just to support the game rather than to get new features.

i would say that possibility of disabling ads is the most valuable feature of Membership

I initially bought it to support Fizzer and join the ladders, since back then the ladders were members-only. At this point there is no real reason to get a membership besides just supporting the game (which in my opinion is a good enough reason for those of us who are daily players).

I have definitely not been convinced to pay for a membership.

Not even to support Fizzer. His decisions on things like the 1v1 ladder template reek of an attempt to grab more money. Clearly he's doing fine without my 35 dollars.

Talking of. I've just realised I've had Ad block plus on... No warnings, nothing.

I like the recent games tab. it shows mainly coin games, but it's a cool feature anyways. Most important is the ad free gameplay. Especially on the app it's annoying

yeah, the app being ad free must be nice, I don't even notice the adds on the pc. I remember when Warlight had tons of member benefits, I think the way things are now is great but it would be cool for members to get more for their money.

Simple things like being able to change names every 20 days like it used to be or a member forum or ladder or something.

Does anyone know if i can just buy coins, and then buy membership with them? Without them being used for any games (since to withdraw they all have to been used once in coin games). Since I might as well use the coins I already have for something.

^Yes you can buy M with coins. So that should work.

I didn't have access to any ladders when I got it, but it was a nice bonus.

Mainly I bought it to support fizzer, because the longer the site lasts, the better. But having early access to ladder, being able to use the bomb card, ad free play, CLOT and the Recent Games tab made it worth it for me.

I bought it to support Fizzer, I don't see many other reasons to buy one.
Playing without ads is nice, but Fizzer should definitely add more perks to members, so more people would buy one

Not having ads is the best benefit in my book, and I also like to support developers.

I got it to remove ads on my mobile. I just wanted my screen back and I played it enough on mobile to care. I also thought it was a fair price for how much I played.

I am happy to support Fizzer just so he keeps it up and developing. ...I know I'm going to get a new phone in 1-3 years, and updates don't happen by themselves. I prefer to play on my laptop, but I do mobile too.
