Adding number of armies for each attack and/or transfer details would be useful. Good job!

P.S. something I noticed. If Player A is about to get knocked out of an area (X), but manages to escape by capturing a territory (Y) adjacent to the one Player B is targeting, it says something like:

'Player B attacks X, attempting to knock Player A out of the area, but fails.'

There is no mention of the escape-capture move to territory Y or Player B actually capturing territory X.

Yeah, but it's a good start PS...

Great work Smiley :) There is currently a lot of work (in sports) in creating AIs which generate commentary, which is really interesting, the main problem they have is getting the AI to know what is "interesting" to a human, I bet we could program it to recognise big events in Warlight quite easily though :)

There's a way to make it analyse any game you were in btw, so long as you are a member.

Smiley, without looking properly, do you use your own API token for all the calls?

Thanks all!

Hennns: I will add cards. A little frustrating is that the API says when cards are played but doesn't include some relevant info. Like Blockades don't indicate the territory played upon (could be deduced by looking at the standing next turn). Reinforcements don't indicate the number of armies.

KKND: I have already added final status to the undeployed code.

Zippy: Well, I have a problem of spending too much time just screwing around :)

Cao Cao: I will add the army counts involved.

ps: I will make the github repo public, I just need to change it so that my API Token isn't in the repo.

Fleecemaster: Yes, I use my API token. I could possibly make it accept a user-supplied token, but that would be a security risk for the user.

I think it's hilarious that Fizzer requires people to pay him for an API token, so that they can create tools to enhance lackluster development.

Well, that's life, pubes...

smiley, I figured you'd use your token, that's the only way I could figure out how to get mine to work. We're working on a way around this maybe, but it'll take some time I think...

I ran this through the program and it worked fine but I thought there was a mistake on the program. On turn 5 Blackknight manages to delay an order by attacking with zeros. how do you do this? Im sure you're not allowed to do this. Whenever I try and attack with zero it gives me an error.

He probably deployed some, made the attack orders, and then removed the deploy.

It doesn't matter though, orders with zero armies don't actually count as an order in the cycle--so you can't delay with them. It just skips to your next order that uses at least one army.

If you just include the BROKE, Distribution, forced from area and CAPTURED clauses, we would have auto-commentary for WGL.

I disagree, Fleecemaster. It would benefit Fizzer to give out API tokens like candy on Halloween.

I tend to agree with you pubes, although I just want to say that there are two basic profit-strategies to this kind of thing that I can think of. You could call them the Microsoft model and the Apple model. The way you're suggesting and I agree with is more like a Microsoft model, where the API is basically free for anyone to use, you just have to use it on a Windows (Warlight) system. The Apple model is more restrictive and tries to funnel all development through an approved (token) system, meaning they maintain a monopoly on the end-user's access to the third-party apps. Sounds like Fizzer is trying out something like an Apple model. Personally, I think it's a mistake. (Another model, usually not for profit, would be the Open Source model, but less relevant here.)

Did I somehow suggest the API shouldn't be freely available?

I would prefer it if all players had access to the API, I was talking about finding a way around that restriction so we don't need the API. Granted I only bought membership because I wanted access to the API, but that was generally to help the community, whom 90% of don't even have access to :/

Clarification: I wasn't 'agreeing with pubes and disagreeing with Fleecemaster', I was 'agreeing with pubes and disagreeing with Fizzer'. I.e. just echoing his sentiments. Although I guess pubes *was* 'disagreeing' with you, though I wasn't 'agreeing' with his 'disagreement with you'. Ugh. Whatever. :-)

[According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pant, there are three places named Pant in Wales, and one in England. Maybe there's a map where that commentary could be literal.]
