The clan update was posted 13 hours ago as from posting this. Yet only a handful of clans have been created and even by them the only well known one is the RP clan which looks like it hasn't had many updates.

Do any of the main big clans out there (who this system would be useful for) eg: Warlights and 101st plan on getting a 'official clan' page or not?

I am really curious how the clan pages actually work. We already have a google website with forums, links to our tournaments, a link to the CLOTs I am working on, etc. So I would create one here in a heartbeat if it were not for the $15 fee. I'm not sure this would actually improve our clan experience yet beyond having a logo.

I have just paid for the page....and I'm making it now, I hope it's worth it as I paid £9, I guess it makes it official.

@chris: you get a privte forum, no different to this one, except this one's public, and you get the profile page displaying all your members.

But what controls do you have? We discuss potential members on ours, but then I can delete the thread when a new person joins (so they can't see who voted no). If you can't delete/manage threads, the forum is a waste.

I sort of agree with you, Chris. I was really surprised when eagle from REGL bought the membership, because there is already the reglclan site, which has its own forum and live chat, frequently used by its members and also non-members. So, if you think your WG site can do it all, maybe you dont need the 15 bucks package, though its nice to support the game! :)

As for deleting threads, I guess you'll have to resolve to using private mail chat for that purpose. :)

I suppose the private mail would work for that. It isn't a matter of supporting the site (as I said in another thread, 7/8 of our members have paid memberships on here), I'd just like to know what all we would be getting. Also, what happens if the leader retires and another clan member takes over the clan? Can that be passed on, or does everyone have to start a different clan and register that name? There are just too many unknowns about this.

as long as you promoted someone else to the admin rank before your leader leaves, that person can take over, as admins have the exact same rights as the owner/creator of the clan. If you read the blog post, it tells you all of what you're getting.

So an admin can boot the creator from the clan?

Yes. I typed out a long post about the dangers of that.

Must be a poor situation if you can't trust your clan members not to kick you out...

Oh right. The 'clanslut'. Makes sense...

{rp} has been quietely embezzling our members' funds for awhile now, so the $15 wasn't much of a leap for us.

Regarding the features it gives us, they look very promising. It's nice to have everything in one place.

My only gripe is the difficulty of getting to your clan page and forum. A little icon next to the mail for your clan would be good. Maybe it could be your clan logo, and it would glow if there were any new threads on the clan forum.
