First off, let me be clear: I support autistic as an insult to be handled the same as dumb is. That means - don't use either.
Implying that autism is a form of dumbness is whack. I thought you were an intilligent person Infection, but I was wrong.
According to OED:
dumb - Stupid.
stupid - Lacking intelligence or common sense.
intelligence - The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
A mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts.
Lacking ability to acquire the sufficient social skills, speaking, and some other stuff.
There are some positive things about autism as well.
I know a kid who's 5 years younger than me but still manages to know a lot more about the subject of science than me. He asks me the most complex questions I never could answer. He even can remember a whole wikipedia page and is able to tell the whole wiki page to others in its very details without looking up the internet. That kid isn't dumb, he's a genious! Clear up your misconceptions.
So? You can be ignorant and intelligent at the same time, one specific insult doesn't mean you're bad in all ways whatsoever. Your example here (I assume is lightly mentally ill), you can be autistic but not dyslexic, and same about. Just since you know what a photon basically is does not mean you're super smart at all the sciences.

How capable an autistic is, depends on many things, not just their base level of intelligence, just like everyone else. I know a lot of people who are supposed to be very smart, but haven't accomplished anything, even though they are supposedly "gifted". they prefer to be complacent, sitting back and making snide remarks of everyone else to make themselves feel better.
Autism and other mental illness are anti-intelligence. If you are mentally ill, it lowers your intelligence (but can be balanced out kind of), if you are dumb, it lowers your intelligence. Now you tell me the difference.

I don't blacklist folk for having different opinions and thoughts than me - I only blacklist for general rudeness and insults. For those who have different, controversial, and/or unfounded thoughts to me, I try to talk with them (like I am you) to gain new outlook and knowledge. Unfortunately, most Warlight just deals with just general insulting.
