Starting with cards Question: 2015-12-02 16:41:30

I've messed with the settings 4 or 5 different times and I am just not understanding I guess. I'm trying to start a game with X number of cards and then set it so you get NO more cards the rest of the game. So far every time I've tried it we start with the cards I want, but then we end up getting like 6 more cards per turn. I thought I changed all the other settings to 0, but I must be missing something.

Anyone able to help?
Thanks!

so you want to have a card at the start and then no cards afterwards?

Maybe try setting the number of piece to something ridiculous like 250 and then setting the number of cards you start with as 250. I don't even bother with the weighting

The card settings are very flexible. It is for example possible to only gain some cards during a game, while starting with others. What you are going for there is only a few settings that matters.

Number of Pieces to divide the card into: 1 (this is simplest for what you are doing)
Number of Initial card pices: (This relates to the above, For 1 a piece = a card)
Also, Number of card pieces that you receive each turn. Set this to 0, for what you are asking for.

Here are some helpful red dots, for what you need to check.

PS, If you still have problems, send me a WL mail / pm with the template and what you are trying to get from it, card wise.

Set the number op (total) pieces you get each turn to 0, as well as the minimum amount you get of (each) card each turn so no cards are given away. Then set the number of pieces a card divides into to 1 (this step is optional, however I think it will be a not to difficult thing to do and also will be helpful). At last set the initial number of pieces given at the start of the game to how many you new (the number of cards you want if you did the optional step).

@TBest

You marked almost everything, however you also have to set the minimum amount of pieces awarded per turn to 0, otherwise you can't even progress futher.

^true dat. It is above the 2nd red dot.

Card settings get really fun when you use multiple cards in a team game, and want different cards to show up at different times :) Then you have to worry about every setting.

Hey, I have a template where you start with only 5 cards and receive no more:

Maybe having a look at my settings there will help you Ranarius, good luck :)

Thanks everyone! It was the pieces awarded per turn that I was missing. I think I got it now :)

It is possible to divide cards to fixed and awarded. All it takes is to adjust card weight to 0 in cases when you want fixed number of cards at the beginning.

Here is how it is done:

In this example, we have 2 cards. Airlift is awarded in pieces per turn as usual, Diplomacy starts with 3 cards at the beginning .I regard this as handy especially for diplomacy card, as it is much more useful at the very beginning, but in later stages of game its effect is often just stalling and nothing more.
