Is it possible?
.....of course it's possible. Is it doable?
I'm playing a game on the Rubik's Cube map and I think that map would be a lot easier to play on if it were 3-D. The Earth maps would be pretty awesome in 3-D, too.
I was going to put up a suggestion on Uservoice but I wanted to make sure it was feasible first.

Buta 3d map would require everyone playing on it to have the correct hardware (3d glasses, 3d monitor, 3d video card) which i'm not sure that many people have. Or were you suggesting that it just be optional for those with 3d ready machines?

I don't think that's what he meant by 3d. I believe he is suggesting that we be able to have a map that is a 3d modelled object, which can be manually rotated. I thought the exact same thing playing on the Rubiks Cube map, which I find incredibly confusing. I agree that 3d maps would be really cool. Unfortunately I don't think SVG supports 3D objects, so a new map format would be required.

Oh.... I see. That would be pretty cool. And if it were a 3d earth map, it would be google earth style? But making these maps would be a lot more difficult then the tradiational Inkscape ones.
