He pushed for a ban on all Muslim individuals migrating into the United States. "We have no choice but to do this," he says, "We have people that want to blow up our buildings, our cities. We have to figure out what's going on." This is his justification for not allowing any Muslims from coming here.

What do you think?

Personally, I feel that if you want to stop Muslim radicals from entering, you'd need to close borders to all, because it is legal, according to the Qu'ran, to lie about your religion, and stopping an ideology from entering is impossible otherwise. You could stop any from Middle Eastern countries from coming, but then Europe is easy to get to, and from Europe you can get straight here. Entering from South America is all the rage, too. If Trump wants to stop some from coming, then I say go all out and close the borders all together. That could actually be a good idea, because we do need to know who we have in our country right now. What Trump suggests may or may not be unconstitutional, as well. I'm not sure, though.

You can ban legal immigration on the grounds of nationality, but not on religion. If he said "ban all immigrants from Middle Eastern countries" he would have said a constitutionally legal public policy opinion, but it would probably offend many people still.

Hope he wins Republican primary elections, that way Democrats are going to win with a huge majority, and no one like Trump will ever apply again. Idiot...

That assumes that all the Republican candidates are bad. Which isn't true. Trust me a Bernie Sanders win would be as equally bad for America.

This a quote from a Trump supporter.

"It sounds fair. Nobody's ever heard of Christian Terrorism"

I just hate how all the major candidates are radical nitwits.

In the Republicans we have incredibly anti-foreigner Donald Trump and overly religious Ben Carson.
And in the Democrats we have the far left Bernie Sanders and Clinton, who I don't like because she's Clinton.

I'm actually hoping for Rubio to win now... He may not be my top 1 choice, but he's not as crazy as these people.

Can someone explain why Rubio is a better choice than Rand??

Rubio is the epitome of foreign policy adventurism. At the end of a Rubio 2-term presidency we'll have been in more wars and in more places than Obama ever sent us. He's a super-Hawk and he bleeds for the military industrial complex.

Cacao? I'd rather vote for Supreme Leader.

Why don't we just figure out how to go to the future and to parallel dimensions so we can see the outcomes of all our decisions!

or insultingly racist

Islam is a religion, not a race (you can't convert to, or deconvert from a 'race'). It would still be illegal and insultingly discriminatory, but of religion, not of race.

Same here. The Republicans would be smart to pick Rubio. He's moderate enough to pull in independents and pro-immigrant enough to sway some of the Hispanic vote.

Can someone explain why Rubio is a better choice than Rand?

Both are good options in my opinion, I think Rubio has better odds of winning though.

Trust me a Bernie Sanders win would be as equally bad for America.

Sanders is currently the only Democrat I'm considering voting for. I'd be interested in hearing why I shouldn't.

^^Here's one reason. We can't afford more big government when we're already mountains in debt.

Now some may argue: Just tax the 1%. They can pay for it!!

While that's true, I don't think the constitution or the framers intended our country to be subverted by redistributive wealth policies. And this is coming from someone in the lower middle class. Socialism isn't for America and it never was.

My vote is the person who will A) protect our civil liberties and decrease Big Brother's spying powers B) Will fix the debt crisis even if it means austerity and C) will keep us out of unnecessary wars in Syria, Ukraine, and the South China Sea.

Rand Paul has a good rating on all 3 of those.

@JaiBharat, Disagreeing on his economic policies is a valid argument. It should be needless to say, but there is a big split among economics on what is the best action in terms of gov etc. Anyway, my point is that A,B, and C are all good promises that most- if not all- politicians support. The difference is how they will go about acting on those points.

There is no guaranteed way of knowing how "good" or "bad" someone will be for a country, before you have had them in charge. {But still, no trump for president if you want other countries to stop laughing at you.}
