you can invite my "Don't hurt me" alt / bye account to Optimum if you want.
i mentioned on the clan creation thread that i wouldn't mind being added to the github group to check what you're cooking and give some feedback but got no response. i assume what you're doing is opensource on github.
i don't want to join a clan with my main account, it's a personal stand thing.
also i still think it's silly to create a clan for mod development.
Sorry ps, I guess we missed that somehow. I sent a PM to knyte as a reminder about your earlier comments and asked him to invite you (as your alt).
knyte is using github, yes. I've never signed up on github yet, but I presume I will quite soon. Everything will either be open source or at the very least of some liberal 'community' type of license. Not entirely decided yet, but the intention is certainly to be very open, so I'm guessing we'll end up with some open source license. Just need to iron it out.
Re: having a clan for it. Well, technically, the clan is not *only* for development. knyte originally had in mind a more complete clan including players and mentorship for game play. But currently we're focusing on dev to try to get some sorely-needed tools up and running. We've already added one or two non-devs, so it's not an exclusive thing.
As for how it's working out, I think it's kinda nice to have this clan space where we can discuss dev openly without cluttering the main forums. And because we're mostly a bunch of devs, the brainstorming and discussion has been very productive in generating and sharing lots of potentially good ideas. Still too early to say yet, but I'm getting more and more enthused as we go. :-)
At some point soon, we will probably set up a more public space, such as a separate web page or forum where anyone can join/view discussions and see what we're working on more visibly. But for now the clan thing is just convenient and 'good enough' for our little projects and brainstorming. We're still roughing out the basics for now. :-)
BTW: I'm not a native French speaker, but from what I can tell, your accent was really really good. I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between a native French and your accent. Also, you're in Portugal, right? But your normal accent doesn't spark any memories of other Portuguese accents I've heard in the past (not that I've heard that many, honestly, so maybe I just don't know them that well), so I'm curious if you're native Portuguese, or perhaps an immigrant there? Sorry if this is offensive to ask, no offense intended; honestly, when I first heard your accent when speaking English, it most reminded me of a few friends I had from Bulgaria -- one friend in particular, you sound almost exactly like him from what I remember, though your voice is slightly deeper. If I'm wrong, then it is still quite interesting that his accent and yours would sound so similar; I wonder why that might be. Maybe some sort of similarity between the languages, though that seems like it would be a pretty weird coincidence. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it after your French accent performance, which was very well done and funny too.
