Trying to lvl up so I can be get on the ladder, but also I'm trying to get better at the game, and the auto game keeps putting me with people lower level than me lol. High level players invite me into 1v1s!! If you feel like giving me advise or tips at the end of the game it would be appreciated too :)

You can use open seat prerequisites to limit an open game to people higher than a certain level, say level 20 or so, so you get more points for wins. Another thing you can try which is good for points income is Map of the Week auto-games, which are 4 player FFAs.
