Hello,
When looking over the ladder you don't get a sense of how dynamic it is from the display as it currently is shown. Since we are all getting updates on how our ranks are increasing/decreasing obviously the data is there to be used. Why not add a column with an up or down arrow to indicate recent movements in the rankings? I would suggest a green up and red down arrow if possible. This would give the rankings a more exciting feel, and make the visual display more appealing and informative.

The only complication I could foresee is the choice of time interval to update the arrows. It would have to pretty much correspond to the update cycle of the ladder rankings. This would mean that the arrows could change multiple times a day. But I think that fulfills the goal of making the ladder ranks appear more dynamic.

Any objections?

I guess some sort of weighted average rank over the last week can be easily calculated to show if you've been going up or down.

An average would probably confusing to anyone who sees the rank of someone change in a direction that is different than the arrow was displaying. Another idea would be to have a 'Rank last week' or something similar to give an idea of movement over time. But the thought of a ladder board with rapidly changing arrows as games are won and lost and rankings change sounds pretty cool to me. Low cost to try, easy to dump if it isn't popular.
