Sounds like a great idea, so long as you put in some criteria. Try to pick "well made" maps (not lotto maps, for example). I would not play anything rated under 3.5 if I were you.

Also, try to play settings that reflect the map's intent. Some maps are strategic, some rp. I would suggest if there is a template in the map description, try those out first. There isn't much point to playing the wrong type of game on a map.

I don't have time to play (sounds like you have enough). But I will certainly read whatever writeups you have. How will you choose a map? A nomination system with votes?

Also, it would be cool if you made a web page for this, so that it does not get buried on the forums (and just update this thread with progress from time to time). Something like what I did for our clan (but with writeups of course, links to games perhaps):
