It looks like I'm going to continue to be be swamped the next couple of days and will have limited time this weekend, but otherwise, I am ready to take over the list. If any of the listed contenders post interest in being ready to go and Ruthless wants to be the first to take over the list, I no problem with it. Although, the contenders might. ;)

I look forward to seeing this guy on the ladder, IMO the third best 1v1 player, behind the imp and fizz, fairly arbitrary rating though.

I see no reason why we can't have concurrent contests if the hosts are willing.

Nuckluck - Fizz is #2 huh? He's certainly a top player, but I think Fizz belongs among a group of comparably ranked 1x1 players rather than singled out as top 2. There are at least a half dozen very strong 1x1 players on par with Fizz (I think I'm among them). Not sure that's true with Imp who I've seen run the table more than once with the top group.

Actually thats a good point Duke. In retrospect I'd put the impaller on a level of his own, with you and fizzer leading the rest of the pack as the two players who seem to be the most consistant.

I'd like to add that as far as players that I'm truly scared of the three that come to mind are imp, heyheuhei, and bostenfred.

I would certainly be happy with giving the prize to the runner up in the membership tourney. :)

But in all seriousness, I did have to beat him to get to where I am, and would prefer if others had to as well.

@Typesomething: that is a good point. The tourney were Heyheuhei is in the bottom bracket he should push onward. You have every right to point out that you beat him and others should have to do the same.

@Dragons, Ruthless, Impaller and Duke: Thank you very much for acknowledging that this was a worthy exercise and thus stepped up yourselves to see how many more members we can add. I look forward to the day when we get a grand total of how many the five us added to the ladder. Equality, I look forward to watching the games and cheering you on, as you all did me.

To all the new challengers. I assure you all these players are "beatable," but anyone can win one game. Besting one of them in a seven game series is cause for instant acclaim as among the best players on the site. So if you think your name is deserving of such recognition, take the plunge and challenge any one of these four WL demigods.

Nuckluck - I appreciate the compliment. I think Fizz and I are on much the same level, but I also think there are considerably more players at the same level. In addition to some of the excellent new players who've joined, look at these two recent top player round robin tournaments:

Winning 70% of your games against these fields qualifies you as elite. The fact that Imp wins better than 80% is why he's at the top. I ignore my recent losses by autoboot which came before picking territories of course (sadly I got 3 of them when I was offline for a few days).

I hope you, Teddy, Heyhey, Spike, Gnomi and the rest of the rising stars join that echelon as well.

Keep in mind that in those tournaments I'm in contention for 2nd or 3rd place in both behind Imp.

I know my Ladder play doesn't quite show it, but I consider myself a tough 1v1 competitor. My most elite play is on the old map and I'm still trying to make the transition to this medium earth.

Don't listen to Ruthless. He's a softy. You should totally challenge him to a best of 7 series for membership. It'll be a cake walk.

ive beaten impaller ive beaten duke ive beaten nearly every good player on the site, and im 0-life against heyheuhei. Im just hoping i dont have to play him a second time in the losers bracket in the gladiator free membership tournament.
