Depends, look at Season 14, the winner lost to MoD, and the winner's alt (MAYBE) also lost to MoD (then surrendered in all his games and left the ladder)
Well the winner is an alt, Killua Zaoldyeck. If we look at MoD's games, we see that he defeated Killua and Marquis de Vauban. Nobody is sure if Gnuffone or Red was using that account during seasonal, but after Marquis lost to MoD, he surrendered all of his games and left the ladder. Also controversial is that MoD played his own account, but after he beat himself, desi surrendered in all his games.
So basically, without "cheating" MoD would have won that season.
yeah i joined with desi (not from beginning of the season). Believe it or not, i just wanted to Play more great games on guiroma where my opponents take it serious. i was pretty much shocked that i got a matchup with myself (even if desis rating was pretty low at that Point) and threw all my games with desi as result.
Problem not solved, still shady, but at least i can admit i did a mistake and won't do it again.
If you go to his RT ladder page (https://www.warlight.net/LadderTeam?LadderTeamID=4333), you'll see on his graph that he hit 2415 early on, before ratings and ranks became "official". I'm not sure if that should count as an official record or not, but he did hit the highest rating ever.
Also, Yves' top rating is 2403, not 2401. Sze has 2401 currently, so he could pass that if he plays the ladder more and wins.
Wow. You guys take these "records" and "achievements" a bit too seriously.
How about a suggestion: Just as Major League Baseball doesn't recognize records for players that juiced, maybe you could not recognize stats for players who gamed the system or cheated to get such high stats.
If you want people to play fair and exhibit good sportsmanship, don't award or acclaim people who do the opposite.
