In the stream Fizzer mentioned that he's intending to potentially include new kinds of Speacieal Unit in addition to the Commanders and I thought it would be fun to make a thread about discussing potential unit ideas.

Archer/Sniper: Can attack one of the territories connected to an adjacent one.

Scientist: Can research how to create more income. (Base income)

Plane: Can reveal one fogged territory per turn.

Those are my ideas, I think the Archer/Sniper would be the coolest though

If he's going to do that, he can't restrict them to members. I mean, he could, but it would make his decision to remove permanent membership even more annoying.

Tank: One tank acts as five armies. You can add special bonuses that give you tanks instead of regular units perhaps?

i love the scientist idea but how about factory you cant move it but it makes that provence provence produce a army or a level two one make another army at the cost of armys that turn

To Diplomatic Immunity, I don't understand your "plane" idea. Isn't that just a reconaissance card, except, even worse? I do like your sniper unit though.

To Greezantium, I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but a military base of some sort could increase income of the bonus it's in by one, if that's what you mean. That would be cool.

I'm thinking of an undercover agent, that makes the territory it is on appear neutral to opponents.

For the plane can already be kinda done, just give one of these: https://www.warlight.net/wiki/Reconnaissance_Card#Reconnaisance_Card
each turn.

Sniper sounds nice.

However I don't think Scientist or factory would really fit in this game, base income is base income, the only way to increase it should be taking bonuses/lands.

Inflitrator/revolutionary - can take an adjoining enemy territory without attack by turning units against their army or causing citizens to revolt

Blockade/siege unit - deny an enemy territory or bonus any reinforcements for a turn

To be honest I like the sniper idea best

Mortar: On attack, counts as 3 troops. On defense, counts as 9.

General: Kill rate for the unit with it is cut by 33%.

Ambusher: Does not show up on enemy's map even on no fog. When territory in which he's defeated is taken, 2 turns later he retakes the territory with a stack of the size of the one that you had when the territory was taken.

Assassin: Stack has double efficiency when attacking a stack with a Special Unit.

Charger: Has priority over all other moves. Always happens first.

DI's ideas sound like he's trying to make Warlight into Civ.
Ambusher needs clarification.
Assassin is obviously a good idea.
Charger could also be called cavalry, which is a good idea.

These were a couple rushed suggestions (30 seconds thinking and several more typing).

There's a lot of glitching potential in that.

Archer/Sniper is the best idea I think I'd like to see. Sounds awesome from attacking point of view. Defensively I imagine it and would just feel so exposed lol.

The Sniper, Charger (Cavalry sounds better), Assassin, and General all sound like good ideas, without changing the game too much.
