This thread is to discuss options on how to enact that series.
Please don't troll this thread!
Overview:
A series of small tournaments that qualify you for the large prize tournament.
Small Tournaments -About 5000 coins in prizes -About 6-8 small tournaments, each one having different settings and coin options. -Each tournament will have about 100-200 coin prizes. -Some will have a nominal entry fee and additional rewards supplemented by me. -Some will have no entry fee with all rewards paid by me. -Some will be single elim, double elim, round robin, team, solo, FFA, private invite, open to public, etc. -Some rewards will be subscription memberships.
Big Tournament:
-About 10,000 in prizes Using the performance results of small tournaments, I'll make a big tournament with a bigger prize. What I mean is that you get points for your participation in the small tournaments, which will enable the top performers from the small tournaments to participate in the big tournament.
Misc:
-I may put a cap on entry to ~3 of the small tournaments. -There may be a prerequisite to enter a number of small tournaments that have an upfront coin payment required. (Meaning that of the three tournaments you choose to join, you'll need to pony up a set number of coins to enter. Such that you can't just cherry pick 3 free tournaments to be a candidate for the Big Tournament) -I'll post a schedule of tournaments so you know which ones you want to participate in up front.
Requests: -If you have an idea for a small tournament, please let me know (mail or reply to this thread). -Ideas should include a template, a tournament format (see the create tournament link).
Going Forward: -Once I get a sufficient number of suggestions for the small tournaments, I'll publish the top picks and put them up to a vote. -Then, we'll get them formalized and set a schedule.
Thanks in advance for your feedback. Of course, all of this is subject to change.
He could do a private invite tournament and make a 1v1 coingame with the winner if he has coins though. not the best solution, but a workaround for some cases, if needed.
Some will have a nominal entry fee and additional rewards supplemented by me.
but that's not possible - you can meke entry free, with whole prize funded by creator or you can set entry fee, but you can't increase prize with your coins in such case.
@krzy, I'm looking for solutions, not problems. :) Solution: Entry fee of X coins, supplemental reward: 1st prize 2 months membership, 2nd prize 1 months membership. Alternate Solution: See Timinator's comments regarding me throwing a 1v1 coin game. Yet another alternate solution: Send a PM to fizzer asking if this is an option to make a hybrid of those two where players can pony up coins and I supplement.
@beren, The private games give me flexibility to create games how I want them created. It takes it a bit out of the straight-up coin game pure-luck format, but hey, a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do.
@muddle, No. First rule, no trolling. This implies that you would read the thread before asking silly questions that derail the thread from its purpose: To discuss options for the series and get recommendations. If you would have continued to read, you would find out that there would be a schedule posted, yo ucan decide what you want to do about joining. Simply put, the details are not there yet.
@all: The purpose is to 1) provide support for Fizzer for all of his hard work. I'm trying to set up some sort of matching contribution thing, where I put up $150-$200 of my own cash, and the users each put up ~$5-10 of their own cash to have an option to win. Sorta like the Powerball, with the exception of I'm supplementing 1/2 of the prize with my own money and Fizzer gets the profit, not "education".
