We have to consider certain factors that played into this though:

1) It was a British Public Inquiry
2) British-Russian relations are at an all time low due to the sanctions posted by the EU and NATO nations against Russia
3) Both the US and Britain have a stake in seeing Putin's national and domestic reputation blurred by corruption and murder charges
4) Media highly politicized the death of Litvinenko and the subsequent investigations
5) The accuracy and bias of the public inquiry has to be heavily scrutinized before taking their response at face value

Putin is a beast. He may have killed the guy, but WHAT A SAVAGE BEAST!!!

Honestly, it is one assassination. 200 years ago, it's run-of-the-mill stuff. We need to grow up. Even if Putin did kill him, it's not our business.
