Socialism is all about stealing everyone's money to pay for random wars all around the globe which benefit none but government officials and stupid "development" projects which build horrible wind turbines all over the place, ruining the countryside, and to forcefully buy people's businesses so that the state can mismanage them.

My question should really be: Should theft be legal? But I'm feeling generous, so I'll leave it at that.

Socialism is not the Government taking your money and spending it on useless crap. Socialism is about taking your money and spending it on Healthcare, Education, or whatever Welfare Project that Government is popping on. Sure Taxes would be high but you'd have free Healthcare and you can send your kids (brats) to school for free. Of course, that's just Nordic Socialism (which I'm leaning towards), there are other kinds of Socialism out there. Just search Socialism in Wikipedia

free medicare has been a failure it has only resulted in longer wait times. Many people have died because of free medicare. Also quality of treatment and amount of time spent with the patient are decreased drastically.

When medicare runs badly, yes it fails. Anything done wrong fails. A Socialist system is not by definition a bad thing, it is how governments attempt to toe the line to stay in good favor with the population that results in socialism getting a bad reputation. If the government put effort into ensuring their socialist policies ran properly, then any government could become socialist and the lives of their citizens would improve.

It wasn't propaganda. I think it mentioned social programs, but really it was focusing on the shift from republicanism to oligarchy.
